The VGC website reports that some users fear that Elden Ring will have the same vulnerability at release, which was previously discovered in games in the Dark Souls series. We are talking about a hole in the network code, which allowed third parties to run almost any script on users' computers, gaining access to the file library and personal data of the owners.
Because of this, FromSoftware had to disable the multiplayer features in the PC version of games, although, theoretically, a similar vulnerability is also present in the console versions of projects. Moreover, Elden Ring has the same hole, and this causes reasonable concerns among future buyers of the game.
Let's see what the developers will do to eliminate this problem. Experts have already sent recommendations for fixing errors to the studio camp, but there was no response from the FromSoftware team.
Recall that the release of Elden Ring is scheduled for February 25th.
