Let's try to figure out who Eivor, Sigurd, Basim and other participants in the rather mysterious ending of Assassin's Creed Valhalla are

Before explaining everything that happened in the final game, I would like to point out one interesting fact. Indeed, there are two different endings in Assassin's Creed Valhalla . Unlike The Odyssey, where you saw multiple versions of the same final scene. First, I'll explain how to get both endings (although we previously covered this in a separate guide ) and explain what the writers of the script wanted to convey to us.
All conclusions described below are the subjective opinion of the author of this material and do not pret?? blow on the ultimate truth!
In the final video (before several more final cut-scenes), Eivor communicates with Sigurd, who in turn "assesses" the actions of his brother / sister. If during the game in the plot forks you largely disagreed with Sigurd, betrayed him, did not want to put up with his arrogance and pride, then he will leave you forever and go to Norway. If he liked most of your actions, then he will remain in England and, moreover, will hand over the reins of the clan to you. These plot twists are described below. I divided them into positive ones ( which Sigurd will like ) and negative ones ( which Sigurd will condemn ):
You can stumble several times, with whom it does not happen. In any case, Sigurd will decide on most of the qualities: which deeds you did more, you will get such an ending.
Really relevant question. And if it torments you, you are not alone. If you went through only the storyline and did not affect the quests of Asgard and Jotunheim, then to the question mark after "What was that?" add an exclamation point. In fact, even by completing the "Fate of Xavi" quest chain, you will not get a clear answer to this question, but it will still clarify some points.
Let's start with the present. The "reality" of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's virtual universe is on the verge of destruction: the earth is emitting a powerful magnetic field that must be stopped. But first you need to figure out where the source of this power is. Everything that you saw in the game - events, warriors, deaths, betrayal, hatred, love - all this was in order to find this very source. But what about the pagan gods and their worlds? In fact, there are more questions than answers. Let's try to figure this out.
At first, Eivor's visions seemed either a sick imagination, or just a passion to visit the worlds of the pagan gods. But the further we dive into history, the moreOr better understand that this is something completely different. In fact, Eivor sees everything through the eyes of Xavi ( the ancient name of the god Odin ), who is afraid of his fate - to die from the paws of the huge wolf Fenrir.
From this we can conclude that in Asgard, Eivor is Isu in the body of Xavi. This is confirmed later when you hear the voice of Ezio Auditore himself through the broken mirror in Jotunheim. The Scandinavian version of Isu literally convinces Odin and the other gods to take the "honey of immortality" in order to survive and be reincarnated centuries after their inevitable death at Ragnarok.
In fact, the voice from the mirror is just a premise to Isu. Later, when you find honey and bring it to Hyurrokin at Mimir's well, she will tell you a very interesting story. These are just a few suggestions, but this version is built on them.
Hyurrokin explains that she, Jotunheim's ruler Suttung, and Gunnlöd ruled together as Father, Mother, and Sacred Voice. She later says that she will sacrifice her freedom to undo the misfortunes of the past using her husband's ashes. Now there is no doubt that Hyrrokin is the Scandinavian version of Juno, who creates the Sages.
Based on this, the magical mead that Odin and Tyr drink before Ragnarok is the Scandinavian vision of Isu technology. If you've read all the notes on Layla's laptop, you might have found a note from Sean that says " ...honey seems like a metaphor for something more to me ." It is impossible to say this until the end, but this way we definitely begin to understand that Eivor is actually a descendant, if not a complete reincarnation of Isu Odin centuries later.
And this makes a lot more sense than it might seem at first glance. Remember the battle with Odin at the end of the story. This is nothing but a struggle with oneself, with one's prejudices and one's own destiny. In this case, Odin appears as the negative side of Eivor, because it is he who whispers dark thoughts into her ear at any convenient moment.
Sigurd in the Scandinavian version of Eivor is Isu, known as Tyr, the god of war. In Asgadr's last quest, before the fight with Fenrir, we see that Tyr also loses a hand, just like Sigurd.
Sigurd leads Eivor deep underground, to the temple of Isu. He even says that his visions " are memories of a life once lived ." This knowledge was revealed to him at the moment when Fulke mocked Sigurd and cut off his hand. So she made him remember andtrue essence. The "Valhalla" they get into with Eivor at the end of the game is just Sigurd's own fantasy and dreams, which have nothing to do with Eivor.
That is why the latter decides to complete her stay in the fictional paradise of Sigudra. But, as we have seen, Odin will be against them leaving this paradise. After Eivor defeats Odin and decides to leave the Animus, the god asks, " With me you have wisdom and strength, what else do you need?" ". She replies " everything else ", thus destroying her own destiny and prioritizing earthly life over simulation. Eivor and Sigurd's victory transports them to a reality where things aren't going so well with the arrival of Basim.
Let's be clear: Basim is the reincarnation of the Scandinavian god Loki. In the final showdown, Basim tells Eivor that she killed his son. But, if you do not take into account the Asgard quests, where Xavi kills Fenrir, in the ninth century, Eivor, according to the plot, did not meet huge wolves and did not kill them.
It seems like some kind of nonsense, but remember the very first video in the game. In the battle with Basim, he admires the scar on the neck of Eivor, which was left by his son. Rather sun?The first wolf, who tried to kill the hero in childhood, is his reincarnation.
Unfortunately, although we defeated Basim and connected him to the ancient Animus, he did not die, and moreover, using Layla and a magic wand, he was reborn in the present.
With the help of Leyla, Basim was deceived from prison and ended up in the real world. But the girl herself does not mind staying here, and even vice versa. To prevent the death of mankind, she is ready to make a sacrifice and stay here forever.
This is a very valid question, but I can't give a definitive answer. Although Basim managed to heal himself with the staff, he is still Isu. In a conversation with the one whom he calls " my love " (voice from the staff), Basim says that the Heir of Memory did her job perfectly. Obviously, Layla was always destined to die in the temple and rescue the old assassin from her dungeon. ?It's unclear if we'll see Layla again in the Assassin's Creed lineup, but Rebecca, Sean, and Basim will clearly be new heroes in the next installments of the popular franchise. We may not even have to wait long, given that Ubisoft has announced several major DLCs for Valhalla.
