Experts believe that many publishers are already preparing for this moment. Yoshio Osaka emphasized that the cost of games has remained identical since 2005, at the time of the release of the Xbox 360 and the long-suffering PlayStation 3. It was then that the cost was increased to $50-60. At the same time, now 2-3 times more financial resources are spent on game development.

Similar price increases were reported for movie tickets, Netflix subscriptions and cable television. However, not everything is as bad as it seems, because even if the prices for games rise to $70, compared to 2005, the difference will be a miserable 17%. This is much less than the increase in prices in other areas described above. For example, movie tickets have risen in price by 39% during this time, and a Netflix subscription by 100%.

However, not all games will be sold at inflated prices. Most likely, the rise in price will affect various AAA titles. Take NBA 2K as an example. All this is logical, so be prepared for such a scenario.
