Some practical, useful tips for completing all the story missions of the action Star Wars: Squadrons


Prologue

The prologue of Star Wars: Squadrons consists of two parts. This is a kind of tutorial. Get used to controlling fighter jets. Below we have compiled a list of tips that helped us quickly adapt to the game at a very early stage.

Slow down on turns

Always! Resist the urge for high speed. When turning, slow down, at least halfway. And accelerate on the straights.


Use cyclic aiming

Press the A/Cross buttons (or the equivalent PC key) to instantly aim at the nearest enemy. Navigating 3D in a fighter jet is hell. Want to adapt faster? Click on the indicated button to instantly find the target. Subsequently, you will learn how to search for opponents on your own.

Left - shot, up - select weapons, right - shields

Use the color scheme to quickly understandmanagement. The thrust is blue on the left side of the cockpit, the weapons are red when firing, at the top of the cockpit, and the shields are green, on the right side of the cockpit.

Don't stop shooting

When you stop, you become an easy target. Move constantly, but slow down a bit if you need to aim.


Mission 1. Form the Vanguard

Passing Tips:

  • Hyperspace jump points have a direction . You must only pass them in the direction they point. Look for arrows on one side.
  • Use looping targets and keep an eye on the combat display (green screen to the left of the control panel) to make sure you're chasing the right enemy.
  • Probably, you can complete the mission without much fuss with the distribution of the ship's power. But you can use the moment of relaxation to practice this.
  • When the rocket flies to your ship, you will see the corresponding tooltip oninterface. As the missile approaches, the red lights move from the edges to the center of the scale. Your task is to dodge just before the hit.
  • Increase the power of the engine (press left on the datapad to turn on the blue light). Watch for on-screen prompts to maneuver and avoid missiles.
  • Use Request Resupply to repair the hull, restore missiles and countermeasures.

After you find the wreckage of the scouts, enter into a larger battle. This time, you will have to destroy many TIEs, two IGV-55 silencers and one light cruiser.


To earn the Protector's Medal and complete the optional objective of this mission, you will have to complete it twice, as the requirements contradict each other. Regardless of what you choose at the very beginning (silencers or fighters), you need to destroy the cruiser at the very end. Once both jammers are destroyed, reinforcements will arrive to make your task easier.

First mission medals

  • Complete mission 1.
  • Complete mission 1 in 16 minutes or less.
  • Complete mission 1 without dying.
  • Destroy all fighters, ?before destroying jammers.

Mission 2. The Skies of Yavin

The Vanguard Squadron head to Yavin Prime to aid the Talus group and capture the Victorum Star Destroyer.


Walkthrough Tips

  • Now you have to use other equipment. In particular, ion missiles , which disable the shields and protection of fighters, making enemies easy targets for your entire Squadron.
  • When needed, request ammo replenishment .
  • The most important thing you will learn in this mission is focusing the shields in front or behind. After use, perform a rebalance (just one button press) to protect the ship. And don't forget to power up your shield (press right on the D-pad to turn green) until you're attacking enemies.
  • You need to press the button to scan the parts of the Star Destroyer and find the break point. Don't slow down too much or you'll be damaged by the turrets.
  • To get  Scout Medal , first head to the (potential) breach point on the back of the Victorum Command Tower. This is hinted at in the pre-mission briefing.

Mission Medals 2

  • Complete mission 2.
  • Keep within 13 minutes.
  • Complete mission 2 without dying.
  • Save Frisk.

The last target will appear at the moment when you are surrounded by enemies. To help Frisk, find the enemy ships marked with blue markers and immediately destroy them.

Mission 3. Through Enemy Lines

Walkthrough Tips

  • The A-Wing is much faster and more agile than the X-Wing, but is equipped with weaker hulls and shields.
  • You can choose the equipment you want. But leave everything as it is.
  • TIE Bombers deal a lot of damage to Victorum, so don't ignore them. This is your top priority. They are also capable of countering missiles, so focus n?? using lasers or equipment marked dumbfire . For example, ArMek Barrage Rockets.
  • TIE Bombers are also much slower than your A-Wing. Don't speed too fast so you don't miss them. in addition, you can send all the power to the weapon (press "up" to turn on the red indicator), removing some energy from the engines.
  • When the Lambda shuttles arrive, you will learn the commands for the squad. Basically, you can issue 3 orders: attack a specific target (when targeting an enemy), defend a specific target (when targeting an ally), or request resupply (cancel the previous two orders).
  • Shuttles are relatively easy to destroy, so split up the squadron with new commands to make it faster. Redirect the power to the weapon for more firepower. Speed is not important here.

Drift turns:


  1. Send power to the motors .
  2. Accelerate to develop maximum speed.
  3. Turn sharply, all the way to the left or right.
  4. Stop accelerating immediately after starting a turn .

Mission Medals 3

  • Complete the mission
  • Keep within 15 minutes.
  • Never die.
  • The strength of the Victorum hull must be at least 30%

Mission 4. Secrets and Spies

Passing Tips:

  • And again you are a new ship with new weapons. Learn the basics before getting into battles.
  • TIE fighters don't have shields, so power control is much easier. It can be redirected between weapons and engines.
  • TIEs are better armored than X-Wings (even without shields), have better maneuverability and acceleration. The last parameters are comparable to A-Wing. They are smart and can take care of themselves.
  • Your first task is to destroy several missile platforms as part of the destruction of the outer defenses . Attack them from below to bypass most of the defenses.
  • The main rule of TIE piloting is to keep moving. Use your speed and agility to make up for your lack of shields. This is especially important when destroying outpost defenses and attacking laser guns . If there is no time for blocksroving rocket, double-click on the launch button of your rocket to undermine the enemy. Of course, first you need to aim.

  • Destroy the New Republic GR-75 transports (before you escape).
  • Destroy all remaining fighters until Gladius arrives.

Mission 5. The Trail from Deservo

Walkthrough Tips

  • TIE Reaper (Reaper) - the next new ship, which you will learn to control. It is more similar to X-Wing than TIE Fighter. And he has shields.
  • In this mission, you play the role of support, which is reflected in the installed weapons. You don't have missiles, and lasers are replaced by Ion Cannon, which disables any electronic systems. Mission 7. Into the Abyss

Mission 8. Fractured Alliance

Walkthrough Tips

  • TIE Interceptor is a new ship. It's faster than the A-Wing, but just as agile. However, the standard Empire model does not have shields.
  • This time you have full control over the gear . Almost all battles are regular enemy fighters, so choose your gear according to this feature.
  • During the mission, you will be attacked by several enemy waves. Keep an eye on the interface and the flashing red dot every time you hear a radio notification. You won't be able to aim at enemies right away as they spawn out of range, but at least get an idea of which direction they're facing.
