Walkthrough — A Harold Halibut Guide

Chapter 1.1 - An Ordinary Day

After the introductory cutscene, you will find yourself at the station. To get the first achievement "Rebel" go to the door on the left side. The administrator will scold Harold. Repeat the action a total of three times. To leave the station, you need to talk to the little boy sitting at the reception desk. Another cutscene will start: the mom will pick up Felix and the professor will pick up Harold. Follow the professor and select the Central Station. You will get the achievement. After traveling, you will find yourself on the right side of the Central Station. Go to the left side to use another subway system. This time, head towards the laboratories.



Chapter 1.2.

Another cutscene with Professor Maro will start up. Follow him to the labs to get some tasks. You will also be given a PDA. Open it and find the list of tasks. The main and optional tasks are available here.

- Clean the filter station. This place is located at the lowest part of the block with laboratories. Exit the lab and go left until you see a T-shaped section labeled Lounge and LVL 1. Continue down the stairs until you reach a sign labeled Filtration Pump014F. Head to the right side of the floor until you reach the Filtration Pump014F room. Once you enter the room with the filter, you'll find a lever in the upper right side. Climb up the short ladder and interact with the lever. After that, symbols will appear on the screen. Click on the orange symbol to light up the others. On the left side, look for a symbol that resembles a "fish" and two vertical lines. Highlight it, then click the ? symbol.



- Feed the fish. To feed the fish, go to the vending machine next to the tabletop. Interact with the device. Unfortunately, the fish food has run out. You need to find a man named Cyrus. Leave the labs, go forward to the T-section labeled Lounge and LVL 1. Climb the stairs to LVL 1 and go right until you reach a greenhouse-like room. You will realize that you have gone the right way when you see the Botanical Concepts 022F and Observatory sign. Enter the Botanical Concepts 022F room and talk to Cyrus. He will provide fresh food for the fish. Go back to the lab and interact with the fish feeding machine. After that, you will automatically get another main quest.

- Go to the Agora Arcades arcade. After completing both quests, Harold will tell you that he needs to go to the arcade. Simply exit the lab and follow to the transportation system. Watch the cutscene where Harold mentions that reactivating the ticket may take some time. You'll get a new mission instead.

- Review the announcement. Once Harold exits the subway system, you'll get a new objective: you need to view the announcement in the waiting room. Walk to the left of the transportation system until you hit the T-section again. Instead of going left and down the stairs, go right through the small rest room. As you enter the room, you will see a cutscene and afterward you will meet Chris. After a short conversation, you will go through the advertisement together with Chris. After that, he will suggest that you get some rest.



- Bedtime. When you leave the rest room, the announcer will mention that all transportation systems are unavailable. There will be a curfew. Head to the lab, walk to the left of the fish feeder and down the stairs to get to your room. Interact with the bed to start the next day.

Chapter 1.3 - Solar Winds

The day 18251 A.D. has arrived. Get out of bed and return to the main laboratory. Professor Maro will tell Harold about the stones and offer to examine them through the microscope. Interact with the microscope door (which looks like an oven) and the lever next to the exit door of the lab. A shelf of specimens will drop down from the ceiling. Grab the rock at the very bottom right of the shelf with the interaction button and place it in the hatch. Finally, interact with the microscope to examine the sample. Professor Maro will instruct Harold to retrieve an even older sample of the stone from Tommy's store. You will also meet Professor Bridget, who will examine the sample in person. When you leave the lab, Professor Maro will give you one more task - to ask how Cyrus is doing.



Achievement. Now is the best time to get the "The plot thickens" achievement. The living room is empty, and at this point you can watch TV. Go to the living room and watch TV for 10 minutes.

- A message for Cyrus. To find Cyrus, look in your PDA. This time he is in a different location, in the Energy District. To get to Cyrus, use the subway and select the appropriate neighborhood. Once in the Energy District, go to the far right room where you will meet Cyrus. Talk to him; he will ask you to fix the 3D printer. Go to the switch-like apparatus and unscrew the screws by moving the screwdriver over them and holding down the interaction key. Once you've unscrewed all the screws, you'll find a bare wire. Cyrus asks you to check the hole. By pressing the interaction key on the bare wire, you will get the desired result. Having completed the task, you can tell Cyrus about the message from Professor Maro.



- A mini-message for Maro. Just go back to the labs and chat with Professor Maro.

- Searching for the blue stone. If you look in the PDA, you'll see that Tommy's store is in the Agora Arcade. Use the subway and watch the scene with Felix and Major. During the scene, you will be presented with several options to choose from. Answer as you see fit. This does not affect the game in any way. After a short conversation with Felix and the Major, you will be able to explore the new location. Take your time to unlock the different achivas. I'm going to focus on the quests though. Talk to Tommy in Gertrude's beer hall. Tommy will refuse to give the stone and mention that he closed his store due to problems with his wife Bridget.



- Check on Bridget. Go to the Energy District and stand in front of the window (opposite Chris and Bridget). You can choose either option.

- Reunite with Tommy. After attempting lip-reading, return to Tommy in Gertrude's beer hall and interact again to report the results.

- Report to Maro. After completing the cutscene with Tommy, Bridget and Major, you will receive a short message from Zoodle when trying to leave the location. Use the transportation system to return to the labs and report your findings to Professor Maro. A lengthy cutscene will start, which will take you and the professor to another area.

- Retreat to the lab. After meeting with the CEO, leave the office and follow the professor to the lab. To do this, use the subway, select the central station, go to subway 2E, then select the labs. Once inside the lab, you will complete the main mission and see another scene with Professor Maro.

- Sleep Time. Since you can't do anything else after this scene, head to the bed and rest.

Chapter 1.4 - Sample

After waking up, head to the lab and talk to Professor Maro to get the first story missions.

- Stone Delivery. Go to Bridget in the Energy District and give her the rock sample. She will ask for help. Approach the machine controlling the conveyor belt and Harold will automatically interact with it. This is a simple mini-game. You need to stop the conveyor belt on the red rocks. After that, you need to crush and spray the samples. Do this three times and the task will be completed.

- Cleaning the filter station. This is the same task as in chapter 1.2. After delivering the stone to Bridget, go to the filtration pump room 014F. This time you will have another orange glowing symbol; select it and the fish symbol.

- The sample is ready. Go to the lab and lower the sample shelf using the lever next to the lab door. Place the sample in the microscope so that the cat scene involving Harold and Professor Maro will start.

- Meet Felix. To get this mission, open the PDA and read the new message from Felix (after the scene with Professor Maro and the sample). After getting the mission, go to the game bay and talk to Felix at the entrance.

Chapter 1.5.

After the cutscene with Felix in the game bay, follow him through the ventilation system. After exiting the first ventilation shaft, you will see another cat-scene. Follow Felix through another ventilation shaft again, after which your paths will diverge.

- Get out of the shaft! The ventilation shaft is linear, so keep crawling through it until you see another cutscene. After it, you'll find yourself back in the water closet in the lab.

- Go to the bed. Since there is nothing else you can do at this stage of the game, go back to the lab. Professor Maro will offer you a hot drink. Then go to bed.

Chapter 1.6.

At the beginning of the next day, an alarm will go off in the lab.

- Check the computer. As soon as you get out of bed, climb the stairs and walk forward to the computer in the lab (next to the astronaut suit).

- Check the filtration station. After the cutscene, immediately go to the Filter Pump 014F room. Once there, interact with the lever; this will start a cutscene that will complete the first chapter of Harold Halibut.
