Walkthrough Duck Detective: The Secret Salami

At the beginning of the game you will find yourself in the detective's apartment. Examine the police badge and cell phone lying on the table. Look at the loaf of bread on the bed, the bulletin board, the papers scattered on the floor (in front of the desk) and the letter lying in front of the door.

Deduction

• The detective spent the last of his money on bread.

Answer the ringing cell phone lying on the table.

Entrance

Examine the yellow sign. Move to the right and talk to the koala. Ask for more information. Interact with the bus door to get inside the building. Talk to the receptionist. Examine the receptionist. Look at the eyes, the key fob under the phone, and the name tag. Go to the drawer on the left and examine it. Examine the records to find out two names, birthday and information about the stolen mug.

The suspects page will open. Click on the administrator. Select Sophie Wintheimer as the name. Go to the calendar in the upper corner of the room and study it. Hover your mouse over the blue date, the red circle, and the giraffe's face.

Deduction

• Sophie is sad because no one remembered her birthday.

Go back and talk to Sophie. Congratulate her Happy Birthday. Go through the upper door.

Suspects

Examine the piece of paper lying on the office floor, just above where the detective will be. Examine the green bag. Look at the receipt, the salami, and the part of the bag closer to the handle. Talk to the crocodile, examine it. Focus on the face, eyes and shoes. Interrogate the crocodile. Select the mission notes and ask if he knows who chose you to investigate. Sign the book.

Examine the map on the wall. Focus on each of the four points of the station. Go down the steps and examine the desk. Talk to the tired cat, after which examine it. Focus on the eyes, the headset, and the drink in the pocket. Get up and examine the computer monitor. Focus on the user image, name and password fields.

Walk further across the room and up the stairs. Examine the poster on the wall. Focus on the center of the poster, pin it to the left, and the first and last name at the bottom. Walk through the door labeled “enter”. Talk to the bear and examine the character. Focus on the tie clip, forehead, and the stain on his jacket near his right pocket. Examine the nameplate on the desk and the papers on the other side. Look at the hanging portrait, then study it. Focus on the child's face, the bottom edge of the frame, and the secret compartment on the left side. Leave the room.

Open the log and go to the suspects page . The crocodile is Freddy Frederson and the cat is Laura Angst. Interrogate Laura and ask about Freddy's crocodile. Talk to Sophie and ask for assignments. Open the list of suspects again. Now you know that the boss bear's name is Manfred Ernst. Go back to the front desk and question Sophie. Ask about Laura and the mission. Go to Manfred. Ask him about Laura and the mission. Go to the deduction window.

Deduction

• Sophie the giraffe works as a secretary.
• The bear's name is Manfred and he is the branch manager.
• Laura the cat works in customer service.
• Crocodile Freddy works in the back office.

The client and the other suspects

Make your way to the kitchen. Talk to the sheep and examine it. Focus on the broom, the right hand and the hair just above the right ear. Talk to the penguin on the left and examine the character. Focus on the top of the red case, the bottom of the case and the left leg. Look inside the refrigerator. Look twice at the note (once to find the paw print and once to find the signature) and the red box on the top shelf. Look at the microwave. Explore the bulletin board. Focus on the orange sticker on the right, the top of the white sheet, and the sticker on the top left. Go to the suspects page. The penguin is Rufus Cederis and the sheep is Margaret Whitlock.

Interrogate Margaret. Ask about everything. Interrogate Rufus and ask all the questions as well. Go back to the main office and go through the door next to the kitchen to get to the parking lot. Talk to the buffalo, study it. Focus on the nose, the right hand in the pocket and the right side of the jacket. Go to the list of suspects: this is Boris Petrovich. Look at the gym bag by the bus. Ask Boris all the questions.

Deduction

• Client: Laura hired a detective because his/her lunch was stolen by a coworker known as the Salami Bandit.
• Other suspects: a sheep named Margaret works in customer service. A penguin named Rufus works as a janitor. Boris the buffalo is a bus driver.
• Kitchen: Margaret is planning a surprise birthday party for Sophie.
• The culprit: The Salami Bandit blames Freddie because Freddie took the wrong bag.

Gifts

Examine Sophie's presents. There is a necklace and a plush toy. Examine the book. Focus on the top left corner of the page, the top right corner of the page, and the bottom right corner of the page. Look at the note. Focus on the top right corner of the note, the stamp at the bottom, and the last word. Talk to Margaret and Laura. Leave the room and talk to Rufus in the main office. Interact with Margaret's computer. The password is Purple Eyed Alien (the clue is in the book Sophie was given for her birthday). Explore the computer. Focus twice on the right side of the screen (two messages) and on the window on the left. Explore Laura's computer. Focus on the chat icon in the upper left corner, the messages on the left and the window on the right.

Deduction

• Sophie received the following gifts from her coworkers: Laura gave a plush toy. Rufus gave a book. Boris donated a necklace. Nothing was stolen.

Business

Go out to the parking lot. Explore the bulletin board. Focus on the top left corner of the page, the bottom center part and the first circle in the red part. Have a conversation with Boris.

Deduction

• Investigation: Salami is being smuggled in from Salsicci.
• Message: Sophie received a silly message.

Administrator

Talk to Freddy. Examine the phone lying on the table. Focus on the name at the top, the first message and the second message. Leave the kitchen, talk to Rufus and Margaret. Explore Freddy's computer. Focus on the profile picture in the right window and both lists in the left window. Go to the reception desk and talk to Boris and Laura. Look at the phone lying on the floor next to Laura. Explore Sophie's computer. Focus on the pink block on the right, the text box above and the second paragraph in the left window. Explore the note lying on Sophie's desk. Focus on the end of the first line, the second line and the beginning of the last line. Interrogate Laura and Boris and ask for Sophie's note. Go into the office and question Margaret about Sophie's note. Go to the kitchen and question Freddy. Go outside and talk to Manfred and ask about the same note.

Go to Manfred's office and interact with the painting. Move it around and find the code for the safe - CS/00/BD. This is a code where the letters stand for customer service, operations manager, and bus driver. The combination represents the number of employees in each department. Laura and Margaret are the two customer service employees, Freddie is the only Operations Director, and thanks to a note near Freddie's desk we know that Boris is one of the four bus drivers. The code for the safe is 214.

Explore the open safe. Focus on the three positions. You will get the key to the server room. Go to the reception and open the door of the server room. Examine the boxes. Move through the room. Examine the server. Examine the mirror. Focus on eyes, right side of jacket, right side of hat. Examine the lamp. Examine the PC. Focus on the top square in the right window, the top square in the bottom left window, then the top left window.

Deduction

• Admin: Sophie was kidnapped because she wanted to tell everything.
• Rufus blackmailed Manfred into keeping quiet about the illegal sale of the vouchers. Margaret hands the vouchers to Rufus.
• Sophie is on the bus at the BearBus office.
• Manfred is the bandit, as his handwriting matches the kidnapper's note.
• Boris is the bandit's accomplice because he needed someone to import salami.
• Sophie is the bandit's accomplice because she was dating Boris and the bandit needed someone to make a deal with Boris.
