To start the Ashes of Ariandel DLC and get into the magical world of Ariandel, you need to complete the game to the Temple of the Deep location, get to the Chapel of Purification bonfire. ATTENTION! When passing the add-on, a high-level hero with good protection against elements such as ice and fire is required. It is best to attack your opponents with a sword or any other weapon enchanted with fire elements. This is how the DLC begins.
Move forward and kill Farron's pursuers. We will not pay attention to all the items that can be picked up at the location. Just study them all closely and be sure to collect everything you need. Stand on a block of ice with a corpse to fall down. Destroy the wolves. A little further on, another giant wolf awaits you.
Having dealt with them, go further, get to the bridge. On the right side in front of the bridge there is a small stone room with a fire. You can keep him. Cross the bridge and approach the chapel of Ariandel. Chat with Sir Wilhelm. Inside, talk to Friede. Do this twice to get a cold bite ring. It will come in handy in the final fight!
Approach the bridge from the side of the chapel of Ariandel. Hit it a few times until it collapses. On the destroyed bridge, you can go down like a fire escape.
Go down the bridge, move even lower along the huge branches. But be careful as there are archers here whose arrows can knock you down. If you fall down, you will die. Going down below, you can go to the left, kill crabs and some magic trees. Thanks to this, a ladder will appear, leading up to the side where the other part of the bridge was attached, next to the fire.
Go the other way and you will find yourself in a flower meadow. Inside the ruins, next to the grave with a sword stuck in, there will be a Champion's Grave Keeper.
This boss is essentially no different from the characters invading your game world, with the exception of better weapons and a longer health bar. As soon as the fight starts, kill the annoying wolves. If you miss a hit from his sword and shield, you can be stunned for a few seconds. Be careful!
In the event that you have good endurance, then you can try to attack the Guardian without a break, thereby breaking through his defense - you will do this in 3-4 hits.
When half of the Guardian's total health bar is destroyed, the Champion's Gravekeeper's Wolf will spawn in the arena. It is recommended to finish off the Guardian before proceeding with the destruction of the Wolf. The fact is that if this is not done, then at the end of the battle the Guardian will start using magic.
The wolf fights in the same way as the Sullivan monster. Avoid fast dashes, close range where the Wolf bites his opponents. The boss uses Death Rush only 3 times per battle. But if you fall under it, then you lose. Uses the enemy with both Ice Breath and Fury Mode, which increases damage dealt. Hide behind the pillars to avoid Ice Breath and its jumps. Attack when the wolf starts to howl, or when he finishes his series of attacks. The boss will drop the Braveheart weapon and champion bones needed to access the PvP arena.
After that, go up to the side where the fire is located (opposite from the chapel of Ariandel). Go down just below the place where the bridge was, and follow the left, down the slope. You will find yourself in the settlement of Ravens. In the building on the left there will be a house with a fire. Cross the bridge and climb to the very top. Kill enemies along the way. You will run into a locked gate. Go down in the opposite direction and turn behind the house on the left. Move along the cliff, to the left of the houses, until you see a ladder on one of them. Climb up the stairs and you'll be on the rooftops. From here you can access different houses with items. But you need to enter the tower on the roof, where there is another staircase. Climb up it and follow the mountain to the right, to the roof of a large prayer room.
Go down through any opening and kill the enemies. Unlock the door to the building and open the same gate on the right. Enter the large temple on the left, where you will have to fight Sir Wilhelm. It is similar to the usual NPCs invading your world.
Search his body to get the key to the device. Find the lever on the wall opposite the entrance and pull it. Climb up and chat with the artist girl.
Next, go outside and save by the fire. Follow through a snowy forest infested with Farron's pursuers. In the end, you will have to return to the chapel of Ariandel through the cave. Talk to Frida again. She will disappear. Inside the cave, through which you will return to the chapel of Ariandel, there is a place where you can jump down to the red plants. So do it. Destroy the flies and find the lever on one of the columns. Turn it and you will see how a secret passage has opened in the chapel of Ariandel. Near the place where Sister Friede used to sit.
Find your way to the stairs, climb up and hit the illusory wall. Return to the chapel and go down to the secret room. Talk to Father Ariandel standing in front, near the huge bowl.
The final battle consists of three parts. In the first one, you fight Sister Friede. She uses her long scythe, which works great at both close and medium distances. When the enemy disappears, it instantly moves to another part of the room. You have to look around to find traces of the rising dust - there will be Friede. Beware of her technique, which she tries to throw immediately upon exiting the shadows. Beware of the ice path. To win, you need to demolish the ALL health bar.
In the second part of the battle, Frida will be joined by Father Ariandel. If you used Gael's summoning sign before entering the location, then use it to distract Sister Frida. You attack Father Ariandel with his huge cup. Whichever of the two bosses you attack, the total health bar at the bottom of the screen will be damaged.
In the third part of the fight, you will need to defeat Frida's Black Fire. Among other things, Friede will begin to use black magic. Try to attack only after her combo. Parry and backstab is a difficult but possible combat strategy. After the victory, you will complete the passage of Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel.
