Guide The Flame in the Flood

Enemies

Crow

The raven itself does not pose a threat to you, but its cawing attracts more dangerous opponents (not always, but it happens). As soon as you spot a raven, immediately run up to it and chase it away with your staff by pressing SPACE. This will save you from unscheduled encounters with wolves or wild boars.

Snake

Snakes are generally passive creatures. They do not attack until the scout gets close enough to them. Otherwise, they won't pay attention to the girl until she uses the torch. If you light the torch, the snakes will start to approach you. Therefore, make sure there are no snakes around before lighting the torch.

Boar

Encountering a boar is not always a terrible experience for you. If you have learned to dodge his attacks, then everything is fine. If a boar is walking behind you, it will stop for a moment to prepare for an attack. Remember that the boars in this game attack only in a straight line, so it is enough to simply avoid a collision.

Boars can be driven away with fire (a fire or a torch), as well as waving a staff. Later in the game, you will burn them down with a bow: you can attract boars with bait.

If the boar does hit you, it will most certainly lead to broken bones.

Wolf

The wolf is the most problematic opponents in the game. He constantly pursues the scout, and his attacks are unpredictable. You can scare him with a torch and a fire. You can briefly scare away with a wave of the staff. Later, when you have a bow, you can kill it in the same way as a boar. You can attract him with bait.

The attack of the wolf leads to injury. If these injuries are left untreated, an infection will develop.

Bear

The most powerful and of all the most life-threatening enemy. Bears are relatively rare creatures found in the game, but every encounter with them should only end in an escape. You can try to wait until another predator kills him. The bear is very fast, you cannot scare him with a torch, a fire or a staff.

Bear attacks result in injury or even immediate death.

In the camp you can find various resources. There will be at least one bonfire here. After you use it, you can sleep or keep warm in this camp.

All kinds of medical items can be found here. The hospital is also a refuge where you can relax.

wild land

You can find a wide variety of resources, but in small quantities. Here you will meet a huge number of opponents. You can even meet legendary beasts like the "Scarred wolf" (experienced wolf).

How to craft (create) items

Most of the items you can create through your inventory. Press the I key and pay attention to the five tabs at the top. You are interested in the middle, third tab. There will be a list of items here. If you see a padlock next to an item's name, it cannot be crafted. The lock will disappear as soon as you collect all the materials necessary to create this item.

Even if the item has a lock, you can still click on it and see a list of required raw materials.

If there is no lock on the item, then it can be highlighted either in green or in gray. Gray means that you once already had the necessary resources for crafting, but now they are missing and you cannot create an item. Green color means that you have all the necessary resources for crafting, so you can create this item.

To create an item in your inventory, left-click on it (if it is highlighted in green).

Bonfire and crafting

Some items can only be crafted with a campfire. In addition, the fire is used so that the main character can keep warm. Below we have listed all the items that are created only around the campfire:

  • Grilled meat.
  • Penicillin.
  • Dandelion tea.
  • Sumac tea.
  • Gas bomb.
  • Corn cake.

Workbench and crafting

Finally, some items can only be crafted at a workbench. We are talking about a steel knife, a steel hammer and a leather strip.

How to improve the raft

The raft is the only way to travel long distances in the game. You can improve it. And it's not just about the maximum distance a raft can sail, but also various amenities like side tiles, housing, more item slots, and a water purifier.

To improve the raft, you must find a harbor. The harbor is marked with a certain icon (look above).

You can repair the raft with screws (+10), wood (+20) or a repair kit (+40), which are made in advance!!!

There are a total of seven types of raft upgrades in the game. In order to upgrade individual parts of the raft, you will need schematics, which can only be purchased while rafting or exploring. You will also need some equipment.

How to hunt rabbits

Rabbits are the only creatures in the game that do not cause any harm to the scout. They are even useful as they are a source of protein (food) and hide (which is used for crafting) and can also be used as bait.

In order to benefit, the rabbit must first be caught. Either a snare or a trap box is used.

Go to the item crafting menu and hover over the snares. You will find out what resources are needed to make it. In principle, there is nothing complicated here. Therefore, always keep one or two traps (snare) with you. After creating the snare, select it in your inventory and place it on the ground. Get out of here for a while. Be sure that in the next few seconds the rabbit will definitely fall into the trap.

A rabbit caught with a snare will be dead. You can use it as food, bait for a wild boar, and use the skin to make other items.

The box trap can be crafted from the crafting menu. Place it on the ground to catch the rabbit. A rabbit caught in this way will be alive. A live rabbit can be used as bait for a wolf.

How to create a trap for a wolf

One of the fastest ways to kill a wolf is to prepare the right trap. The spear trap will require a lot of resources from you. Attract the wolf to the trap using the live bait (caught in the previous section of the live rabbit). The trap will kill the beast, and you will be able to skin and meat from it.

The wolf must fall into the trap itself. It cannot be activated remotely. This is the most effective trap in the game. It can be used both to kill wolves and to kill boars. The trap can injure an experienced wolf or bear. An experienced wolf can then be finished off with a bow.
