Sony continues to test backward compatibility of PS4 and PS5 libraries

The PlayStation CEO spoke with publisher CNET and shared even more details regarding the PS5 console. Jim Ryan touched on both the design of the console and the technology being developed and currently being tested for backwards compatibility with the PS4 library.

He emphasized that the statement about the compatibility of all PS4 games on PS5 is still valid. Currently undergoing testing, which affects both developers and publishers. In total, about 4,000 released titles participate in testing.

Recall that back in March of this year, Mark Cerny said that he would like to see backward compatibility with the PlayStation 4.

Finally, many are tormented by the design of the PS5. At the start of sales, the console will remain in only one, black and white version, which we were shown relatively recently. However, there will be limited versions of the set-top box associated with numerous internal projects of Sony.

PlayStation 5 should appear this year. The exact launch date will be announced later.
