Outriders won't have Denuvo or microtransactions

Developer Outriders held a Q&A session, during which they answered questions from the gaming community. Among other things, we learned about the lack of microtransactions and Denuvo DRM protection.

Action Outriders is being developed by People Can Fly. Yesterday, the developers held a conference and took a few minutes to answer questions from fans. Unsurprisingly, one of them was related to microtransactions and the other to Denuvo's controversial DRM protection.

Robbie Palmer, community manager for publisher Square Enix, confirmed that Outriders will not feature microtransactions, and echoed a developer comment made earlier this year that the game is not a live service (like Anthem or Destiny).

For many, this was a relief, since the project is really suitable for monetization due to the presence of loot, equipment and customization. All these elements are characteristic of all modern games-services.

It is also surprising that the publisher decided to confirm the absence of Denuvo protection ahead of time, which will make life easier for many players.

The release of the game should take place on the Christmas holidays. Outriders will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
