War Thunder has a fresh update!

Gaijin Entertainment announces that the “Hot Trucks” update is already available in the online military action game War Thunder

Players can expect updated visual effects for land and sea vehicles, a line of Italian helicopters, the legendary battlecruisers Von der Tann and HMS Invincible, as well as many other combat vehicles.

The track belt of armored vehicles in War Thunder now consists of separate segments - tracks, each of which has physically reliable properties and correctly interacts with surfaces. When passing irregularities, the caterpillar jumps on the rollers, during acceleration and braking it tightens or loosens, and also sways for some time after the machine has completely stopped. When the fender is touched, the track strikes sparks from it, and when a projectile hits the caterpillar, the tape breaks exactly in the segment where the impact fell. The new tracks are currently installed on the most popular vehicles in War Thunder, and in the future they will appear on all types of armored vehicles.

In the last update, the effects of shots from aircraft were updated, now it is the turn of tank and ship guns. In addition, the Dagor Engine now has?It is not possible to generate objects that are typical for a particular landscape - for example, small pebbles, debris, plants, moss, mushrooms - and arrange them around the scene with a graphics processor. The best way to evaluate the changes in the graphics is on new types of ground vehicles - for example, the long-awaited ZTZ99 main battle tank, the new top of the Chinese branch, or the Japanese ST-A3 medium tank with an automatic loader system.

The new line of Italian helicopters starts with three combat vehicles. Moreover, if the AB 205 A-1 is a licensed copy of the well-known American Huey UH-1H, then the A109 EOA-2 and A129CBT Mangusta are original designs by Italian engineers. Moreover, the Mongoose is the first attack helicopter designed and manufactured entirely in Western Europe. Today it is in service with the armies of Italy and Turkey and has been actively used in Afghanistan and Iraq. The Mongoose is armed with a 20mm autocannon and carries a rich arsenal of unguided and guided weapons, including Stinger missiles and Hellfire II ATGMs.

Fans of jet aviation also received new iconic aircraft - for example, the Buccaneer S.2 attack aircraft, nicknamed "Banana", the A-7 Corsair II carrier-based attack aircraft (one of the first American aircraftwith a HUD - that is, an indicator on the windshield) and the F-84F Thunderstreak fighter. It is curious that the F-84F Thunderstreak was piloted during military service in Europe by the writer Richard Bach, the author of the famous story "A Seagull named Jonathan Livingston".

The large fleet of War Thunder has been replenished with two participants in the Battle of Jutland, the largest naval battle of the First World War, as well as a new record holder in terms of caliber, the Japanese battleship Hyūga with twelve 356-mm guns.

HMS Invincible is the first battleship of the battlecruiser class. Its main caliber - eight 305-mm guns in four turrets - allows it to hit even battleships with fire, and its relatively high speed - to catch up and sink cruisers. HMS Invincible was in both roles: in the battle of the Falkland Islands, she helped destroy two German armored cruisers Gneisenau and Scharnhorst, and at Jutland she entered the battle in the same formation with battleships and was destroyed by fire from the German battlecruisers Lützow and Derfflinger.

Von der Tann is the first German battlecruiser-class ship built in response to the Invincible-class before World War I. Unlike British competitors, it had heavier armoration, but with a smaller main caliber. This solution successfully passed the test of Jutland: Von der Tann sank the British battlecruiser Indefatigable and served in the German Navy until the end of the war.

The full list of changes in the update is available on the official War Thunder website .
