Gaijin Entertainment announces the release of a major update “Spear Strike” for the online action game War Thunder

In it, players received a South African armored vehicle branch as part of the UK tech tree and dozens of other land, air and sea vehicles. For the first time in War Thunder, variable swept wings and display devices on the windshield of aircraft have been implemented, and the list of maps has been replenished with the abandoned Soviet military town of Seversk-13.

The Su-17M2 jet fighter-bomber became the first aircraft with a variable-swept wing in War Thunder. Despite the big vz?a heavy mass, it has high maneuverability at low speeds, and, if necessary, can reach speeds of almost Mach 2. The payload of the Su-17M2 is 4000 kg, among other things, it is possible to install cannon containers, aerial bombs, unguided rockets, as well as a number of guided missiles: R-60 air-to-air class, Kh-23M, X-25 and Kh-29L class “ air is the surface. The update will also include other legendary aircraft, such as the French Mirage III E multirole fighter-bomber and the American F8U-2 Crusader carrier-based fighter with variable wing angle mechanics.

HUD is a mandatory device for modern aircraft that displays the most important information about the state of the aircraft or helicopter right in front of the pilot’s eyes and can show the place where shells, unguided rockets and bombs fell, calculated by a ballistic computer. War Thunder players are already familiar with HUDs for modern helicopters, and in the “Spear Strike” update, such devices will appear on aircraft, for example, on vehicles of the F-4 Phantom II and Harrier families. The innovation is especially important for players who prefer realistic or simulation modes of War Thunder, where there are no markers that make aiming easier.

Finally, navy fans will get ships of various classes and nations, such as the Japanese light cruiser Isuzu, which took part in the capture of Hong Kong and the Battle of Guadalcanal. Its volley of eight long-range Type 93 Long Lance torpedoes can be a decisive contribution to victory in the hot battles of a large fleet of War Thunder.
