Focus Home Interactive acquires developers of The Surge series

Publisher Focus Home Interactive continues to expand. This time the company announced the purchase of the Deck 13 studio, which created two parts (and additions) of The Surge. The cost of the full package of shares was 7.1 million euros, while 6.5 had to be paid in cash. The company also now owns the Deck 13 publishing department.


Deck 13 currently has 60 employees. Over 18 years of work, the studio has managed to complete more than 20 titles. However, The Surge franchise is at the head of everything, bringing in 5.5 million euros in net profit.

Focus Home Interactive took the time to share its earnings for the year in numbers:


  • Profit increased by 13% (142.8 million euros), for which special thanks to the authors of World War Z, Greedfall and A Plague Tale: Innocence.
  • Operating profit increased by 36% (19.2 million euros).
  • The company will not publish Farming Simulator (Giants Software will do it themselves).
  • Currently, 27 games and 9 new IPs are being developed, 50% of the rights to which are owned by the publisher.
  • Focus Home Interactive will announce four new agreements shortly.
  • Also, a full-fledged announcement of the game from Sumo Digital will take place soon. Fantasy cooperative action. Two Warhammer games from developers Gasket Games and StreumOn will also be announced.

Deck 13 is currently creating an unannounced title based onhowling IP.
