Before the start of the Dead Island 2 story campaign, the game will offer you to choose one of six characters. From the very beginning, it is far from clear what certain characteristics give, so we have compiled a rating of characters for you from worst to best. Please keep in mind that this is our personal opinion and yours may be different.
Bruno is somewhat of a "rogue" or "assassin" in Dead Island 2. He boasts high critical damage and tends to attack enemies from behind.

While critical damage is incredibly valuable in Dead Island 2, Bruno's starting abilities are pretty bad. This modest increase in damage just doesn't make up for the overall difficulty of backstabbing. Additionally, the Agility and Heavy Attack buffs that Bruno gains when he blocks or dodges fall short of their potential.
Bruno's damage potential is pretty high, but it will show up late in the game. Other characters have more to offer right from the start.
Amy is an odd character. Her Agility and Critical Damage stats are very high, which is nice considering they are two of the most valuable stats in the game. However, Amy's abilities are... how shall I put it... ambiguous. You won't be able to attack isolated zombies as often, and restoring stamina when throwing weapons will be useful only occasionally.
If you don't need innate skills, then Amy is a good choice due to her stats. Otherwise, just leave her alone.
Ryan ended up in the middle of this list, which is fitting considering he's a pretty average character in every way.
Ryan is a tank, pure and simple. He lacks agility, but his amazing durability allows him to last much longer in serious battles. While his abilities are unimpressive on their own, they fit incredibly well with Ryan's main play style. Engage in battle, deliver some powerful blows and repeat. And so on until the end of the game.
Ryan is not a very exciting character, but ?This is a good choice for players with medium or low skill.
Dani is an odd character. A quick glance at her terrible health regeneration stats will probably be enough to make you not even consider this character as a main character. However, Dani takes others.
Simply put, Dani's abilities are amazing. Bloodlust immediately compensates for the lack of natural health regeneration, while Thunder Clap is a devastating skill that will be useful throughout the game.
Dani's style of play is "risk that brings reward". A great option for experienced gamers.
Carla's base stats are very poor. However, Carla is one of those characters that shows how valuable innate abilities can be.
The first skill is one of the best general abilities in the game. There is a lot of zombie fighting to do throughout the game, and this ability will give Carla a noticeable damage boost in such encounters.situations. Basically, Carla is best equipped to take on hordes of zombies on her own, which is as valuable as it is fun.
Carla is a great choice for singles who want to kill as many zombies as possible.
Jacob is the most balanced character. Jacob's generous distribution of stats is certainly an advantage, but his innate skills are phenomenal. The best way to play as Jacob is to keep attacking enemies as often and as quickly as possible. His stamina depletes slowly, but when it does, he gains significant bonuses.
Jacob is an incredibly aggressive character whose only real weakness (Toughness) isn't all that important in the beginning. You can't go wrong if you choose Jacob.
