All Endings Baldur's Gate 3

The Baldur's Gate 3 ending guide is divided into several chapters depending on the specific path or decision you make during the ending.

Main endings

After defeating the Netherian Brain in the final battle, you can decide what to do with the Crown of Karsus:

  • Good ending - command the brain to destroy itself and all illithid parasites.
  • Bad ending - enslave the brain and become the Absolute.

Note that a bad ending will result in you killing the illithid that is trying to destroy the brain (Emperor or Orpheus) unless you become an illithid yourself.

Good Ending

In the good ending of Baldur's Gate 3, the Netherian brain falls into the sea and explodes. All the illithids are stunned and the inhabitants of Baldur's Gate decide to destroy them. Your squad is at the harbor during sunset, you say goodbye to various heroes, learn about what they will do next.

Bad Ending

For this Baldur's Gate 3 ending, the character must become the Absolute by subduing the Elder Brain. You will kill a character who turned into an illithid (or was one in the case of the Emperor) and went against the brain. It could be the Emperor, Orpheus, or even Karlach! The rest of the squad can't believe it, but you soon take over their minds. Soon you will see many illithid ships.

If you do not worship Baal or playfor the Dark Temptation, who rejected the gift of the deity, then the main character, having become the Absolute, will speak about himself. If they obeyed Baal, then the character will say "In the name of Baal" .

You will not see the cut-scene with the companions in the harbor, the Withered One, and so on.

Ending #3 - Gale Bomb

You can even skip the final fight. I'm not sure what the requirements should be to get this ending. At the very least, Gale's storyline needs to be completed!

  1. We completed the Wizard of Waterdeep quest and met with Elminster.
  2. Read the books in the Storage of "Magic Supplies"
  3. After that, we spoke with Mystra, who wanted to take control of the Crown of Karsus.
  4. Then we took Gale on the final mission.

When your squad interacts with the barrel, which will allow you to climb to the top of the brain, Gale will say that he can destroy the Netherian brain himself with his sphere. Say the following: "If this is really what you want...".

Gale will climb to the top alone and detonate the Weave Orb located in his chest. The detachment will watch this from the harbor.

Character endings

Emperor

If you free the Githyanki Prince Orpheus, the Emperor will not like it and will join the Netherian Brain. You have to kill him in the final battle.

Lae'zel and Orpheus

After the release of Orpheus, you canYou can't let him become an illithid to kill the Netherian Brain. There is an alternative path, when another member of the group (the main character or Karlach) becomes an illithid, which allows Orpheus to remain a githyanki.

If Orpheus has become an illithid, he will assign Laezelle to become the leader of the githyanki and even allow him to control his dragon. She must rally the Githyanki to overthrow Vlaakith's rule. Orpheus also wants you to show mercy by executing him with your sword as he doesn't want to be an illithid. If Laezelle agrees, you can either kill Orpheus or convince him to stay alive and watch the githyanki rise to glory.

Otherwise, you can convince Laezel that she must decide her own fate. Orpheus has no choice, and in the end, he will kill himself.

Gale

Whether or not Gale donated by detonating the bomb, you will see a scene with him in the ending. He will ask what to do with the Crown of Karsus. You can offer to give it to Mystra, use it to gain more power, or hide it from everyone forever.

Astarion

Astarion had a cutscene where he suddenly started to get sunburned. Then he will quickly run away, and his companion will remark that this is the last time anyone has seen him under the sun. I do not know what this is connected with, but I finished Kasador and did not allow Astarion to perform the ritual.

Karlach and Will

If you fix the infernal dvIzhetel Karlah, unfortunately, he will still remain unstable, and she will understand that she will die soon. Another option is to return to hell.

However, in parallel, I completed Will's storyline:

  1. Accepted Mizora's offer and she promised to help save the Grand Duke.
  2. Rescued the Duke of Ravengard in the underwater prison.

Will could be the next Duke of Baldur's Gate, or the Blade of Avernus. As the Blade of Avernus, Will can offer Karlach a return to Hell. He promises to be there and protect Karlakh from Zariel.

Shadowheart

In my case, Shadowheart was the main character's lover. In the final scene with her lover, Shadowheart said that she would build a house for her parents and wanted the main character to stay with her.

Withered

After all the scenes, you will see how the Withered mocks the Dead Trinity of the gods - Bane, Baal and Myrkul. He also claims that they mistakenly believed that he would not notice their plot. Whoever the Withered One was, he's definitely been fighting these gods for a while.

To be continued... In a few days, I will talk about all the potential endings of the game.
