With some probability you will be given a tip (in the form of a record) on specific people. Initially, you can run two branches in parallel - Mystery of the Zone (from the standard SoS) and Living Legend (Strelka line).
There are two leads to the Living Legend - through Lesnik (not working at the time of writing the guide) and through the head of your faction (in Singles is Sidorovich).
All story quests in this branch are labeled "Living Legend:". Everything starts with a conversation with the Swamp Doctor, who is in the dugout in the Swamps (upper left corner of the map).
Two dialogs, one for the Mystery and one for the Legend. We get directions to Agroprom. In the Strelka's stash find all the necessary documents, move to Rostok to the Bartender (or to Aslan in the Dead City, if you pass for a faction unfriendly to the Debt).
Talk to the necessary NPC, get a tip on Cerberus, located at the Army depots near the Barrier (in the original there is a Guardian Max).
If he does not have the necessary dialog box, click on "Tell me about yourself" - it will appear. After that, destroy all the Monoliths, talk to Cerberus again and move to Radar to disable the Burner.
NOTE. Cerberus is unfriendly to mercenaries, but after disabling the Rainbow on its own, the loners stop firing on the measures. You will be able to talk to him and continue the storyline.
After breaking through to the North of the Zone, you need to meet Beard on Skadovsk, who will point you to the Tramp (he is standing at the table on the right). Then the Tramp gives you a quest to find a secret weapon. It is located in the underground laboratory near the "Iron Forest" anomaly, the same place where we were looking for the documents for Product #62.
Go down to the lower floor (in this room was a pseudo-giant in Call of Pripyat, here it is not), you can press F and run across the floor. As a rule, the weapon lies between the rails to the right of the entrance, or directly in the next room where the documentation was lying. It's not hard to find - it's a Gauss cannon.
Go back, give the Product. Once again talk to the Tramp by pressing "Tell me about yourself". Then we go with him to Jupiter to the Putevod, then to the outskirts of Pripyat to the Laundry, where we will find Strelok, having previously talked to Shv.
He (Strelok) will ask to find documents in X-8, located in the KBO "Jubilee". After entering the laboratory, turn right and see the sign to the canteen. Go down and up the stairs, we see the same sign. We keep moving. We hear a baby crying. We enter the canteen, on the farthest table are the necessary documents.
Bring them. We move further along the chain. We get to Central Pripyat, storm DK Energetik.
Note. The Phantom can be eliminated with any weapon, not just the Gauss Cannon. Search its corpse and pick up the Monolith artifact. Let's keep moving.
In the Monolith Control Center you need to pick up the Monolith Shard. It is located in the first hall, where the power units are in the center. The appeared poltergeists can throw it, so you can also use the pressed F key.
After talking to Strelok, go to the head of the group and report what happened. This concludes the Living Legend line.
After that you can occasionally notice in the chat lines about the grouping "Sin". Similar to the first line ask the stalkers what they know about it, move to the head of the group.
All story tasks in this branch are labeled "Mortal Sin:". This line is filled with fighting, so stock up on good equipment and ammunition.
Find a sinful man in the camp, talk to him, move along the chain.
With the help of the receiver in the Equipment Graveyard find the decoder. It lies in one of the orange buses in the back, as indicated in the mission description. Use clamped F to find it - the decoder blends in with the floor in color.
To find the Tramp's scout group in Limansk, run to the stairs leading to the building under construction, talk to the dying stalker, pick up the PDA just to the left of him (F).
Back to the Tramp.
We continue moving along the chain. We finish the line with a battle with Chernobog and his minions in the Control Center, choose whether to make a wish at the Monolith. We report our adventures to the head of the group.
The head will suggest that you go to find the source of the outgoing signal to Zaton. The beginning of the last line - "Operation "Afterglow"".
Everything according to the algorithm.
Look for the PDA on the body of the ESS squad leader in the exoskeleton, pick it up, give it to Degtyarev.
After that we go to Jupiter, meet him at the station "Yanov".
After completing the chain on Jupiter, go to the outskirts of Pripyat. If the message from Degtyarev did not appear immediately after arrival at the location - sleep for 1 day.
Further - on the chain. Choose peace or the destruction of the military detachment led by Alexander.
This completes all storylines.
