In this ICARUS survival guide, we will touch on the topic of leveling up, as well as show you how to get water, food and oxygen.
To reach the second level, first collect enough sticks and stones to create a pickaxe and an axe. Make them and get to the place where the mountain is located. Attack the mountain until you level up. Use a pickaxe for this. You don't just have to break the mountain: in this way you can create a shelter in ICARUS . And it is recommended to leave the threshold. High enough that you can jump over it. Thanks to this, you will create a shelter that a bear or a wolf cannot penetrate. There is nothing to do with high-level beasts at the first level!
Also collect berries, but do not rush to eat them. Water can be found in all caves. I don't fully understand, but maybe it's cleaner than the water outside, which can give you an intestinal infection. As for the berries, eat them one at a time for a temporary buff.

On the second level, unlock the knife, bow and arrows. Hunt animals up to the third level (predators). A knife can cut game. Meat should be cooked on a fire (of course, it will have to be unlocked). Do not eat raw meat, otherwise it will be pichew poisoning. By eating fried meat, you will satisfy your hunger and get a buff. For the best effect, combine meat with berries. Gather Oxite, place it in a quick slot, and use it to restore your oxygen supply. Oxite is a stone with blue spots.
Or you can unlock the sleeping bag, campfire, and torch instead. Stay in the cave and mine the ore until you level up to the third level. But in this case, you refuse meat, which means you have to collect more berries.
At the third level , do what was abandoned above. That is, either buy a sleeping bag, a campfire and a torch, or unlock a knife, bow and arrows. Hunt and collect ore until you level up to the fifth level. The bonfire can be used as storage for the collected resources!!! However, leave one of the fires strictly for cooking.
At the fourth level, you need to create an Oxidizer, install it in the cave and add oxyt to fill the chamber.
At the fifth level, unlock bone arrows. This will greatly simplify the hunt, and you can literally kill enemies with one accurate headshot. Normal arrows do 135 headshot damage, rarely crit, but bone arrows do much more damage and crits are more frequent. For example, deer with their helpI kill with one accurate shot.
Spend points building with wood (do not take straw). Unlock beam, door, floor, wall. Build a 3x3 or 4x2 hut (easier to make a roof, easier to repair). Use the floor elements to create the ceiling. Don't make windows yet. So you "seal" the house, and you can store everything that fits there. After collecting firewood and building a building, you will pump up to about level 7-8. After completing the construction, move the fires with loot inside.
Keep leveling up to level 15. You can improve the house by buying new floors and replacing the floor with a normal roof.
OR
If you want to live in a cave and not in a wooden hut, keep in mind that on the 7th or 10th day (I don’t remember exactly), the caves are reborn, and new resources appear in them. If you build anything inside, it will all be destroyed, including your sleeping bag. While you level up to level 15, stay in the cave. In this case, you do not need to invest points in wooden buildings. Instead, wait until stone building becomes available.
Use a workbench, craft a longbow with 1 point into it, and use the weapon along with bone arrows. Set up a stone furnace and start smelting iron. Use the anvil and make the first metal pickaxe. Get even more iron with it, using it instead of a stone kirki. An iron pickaxe produces a lot more resources. This is true for all subsequent tools: the more complex it is, the more effective and durable it is.
Set up the herbalist's workbench and brazier. Spend points on flour and bread dough. Use the sickle on the wheat fields to collect much more wheat than you do by hand. No need to harvest wheat just like that, only with a sickle! Turn wheat into flour. Each cooked portion of flour will give you experience points, but the buffs that you get in the end are much more important. Pay attention to the talents in the "Food" branch. There is a lot of interesting and useful for survival.
Craft a Waterskin and an Oxygen Tank, use the first one on the Herbalist's Workbench to craft the Cake Dough. You will receive a significant increase in health and stamina. When exploring caves, use buffs from food: fried meat, tortillas, berries and fish (berries are easier since they do not need to be cooked). Keep leveling up to level 15. Hunt, collect resources and food, cook food, process iron.
Start building a 3x3 or 4x2 stone hut. Hide all the loot inside it. Now it will be easier to survive. Focus on metals (iron and copper in a 4 to 1 ratio) by mining them in caves. Move along the walls and be sure to find caves. The entrance to some of them will be open, but others will be walled, k?The toriy needs to be broken with a pickaxe. Don't forget to update and reset the caves after 7-10 days.
Unlock and craft steel tools as soon as possible. Before then, you'll have to unlock a bunch of extra stuff, but by now, it should be easy. Unlock weapons and ammo. Use a hunting rifle to get game. The shotgun will be suitable for bears, which pose the most significant threat.
Water is a vital resource. By the end of the first day on Icarus, you will reach the minimum water level. Let's first talk about all the relevant sources of water:
No matter how you play, towards the end of the first day, try to get water from some source. When setting up any base, make sure there is a source of water nearby.
Water can be stored in wineskins, but they leak, so the water gradually pours out. It is best to store water in canisters and thermoses. The thermos holds more water, but is more demanding in terms of resources. Water collector - sbo??nick for storage and a tool for getting water. But it must be placed outdoors, and it is effective only in those moments when it rains. It makes no sense to install in a cave or inside a house.
At the third level of technology, you will be able to brew beer and other drinks. There are many recipes. Drinking water from a natural source (rivers, lakes) can reward you with an intestinal infection. Diseases go away over time, or you can speed up the process using medicines.
There is a lot of food in the forest, the Arctic and even the desert. It can be obtained from different sources, at the same time, the effectiveness of food is different. The main products are wild berries, fish, game meat. All of these foods can be eaten raw or cooked over a fire.
Then you can cook bread and cakes. For these products, you will have to research the tree above level 10. In the forest, you can find patches with wheat, which can be harvested with bare hands or with a sickle (higher efficiency). Then you will need a station to prepare the dough. After that, you can use the dough on the fire to get bread. Bread not only spoils longer, but also provides better buffs than cooked meat. Some raw foods can lead to buffs.
By the end of the first day, oxygen supplies will decrease. At an early stage, oxygen can be extracted from ox??ta - small blue stones lying on the ground. You can then use a pickaxe to mine oxite from large blue cobblestones.
When you can craft an oxygen generator at tech rank 1 (Oxidizer), you can load oxite directly into it and then click on the bubble to fill your own suit. Leave such cars inside houses and caves. As you progress through the research tree, you will discover even better and more effective devices. It is best to store oxygen in an oxygen cylinder.
And do not forget that working inside the cave can cause pneumonia, so it is recommended to carry medicines for this disease with you.
