How to increase carrying capacity and weight in Stalker 2

Inventory management is an important part of the STALKER series. You can see the current inventory load on the colored scale under the inventory if you press the I key. If you exceed one of the colored thresholds, you will receive debuffs due to overload.

When you are overloaded, your movement speed decreases, stamina is lost faster and is restored more slowly. If you exceed the maximum weight limit (by default - 80 kg), you will not be able to move until you throw something out of your inventory. This is not the best situation, but fortunately, there are ways to increase the carrying capacity both temporarily and permanently.

How to increase carrying capacity in STALKER 2

There are five ways to increase the carry weight limit in STALKER 2:

1. Certain artifacts.
2. Upgrading armor to increase carrying capacity.
3. Upgrading gear to reduce overall weight.
4. Equipping suits with weight bonuses.
5. Hercules consumable for temporary weight increase.

Check your inventory regularly and discard what you don't need, and get rid of excess gear by interacting with merchants or moving it to your personal stash.

Artifacts

You can use up to five armor slots to equip artifacts that you find near anomalies in different parts of the Zone, and some of them give bonuses to the carried weight. The artifacts you are interested in are Sprint, Trickster, Stone Blood, and Goldfish. They can be found randomly near gravity anomalies. Sprint and Trickster have large bonuses to weight, but they also emit more radiation, so make sure to compensate for them with protective artifacts such as Slime and Mica.

Armor Upgrades

You can upgrade your equipment at any technician in the bases. Some upgrades will increase the carried weight limit. Not all Technicians will be able to work with every piece of equipment, so visit them at different bases. You will definitely find a suitable specialist soon.

An example of such upgrades is armor that can increase the carrying capacity by 10% (from 80 kg to 88 kg). These upgrades are usually expensive, but as you progress through the game, you will probably get enough coupons that such an expense will be completely justified.

Upgrading Equipment

You can also buy upgrades that reduce the overall weight of armor or weapons. Most types of equippable equipment have such upgrades. These upgrades usually cost less than upgrading armor to increase carrying capacity.

Stalker suits with bonuses to maximum weight

Some stalker suits have specific bonuses that increase the carry weight limit, and in my opinion, this bonus makes them some of the most valuable suits in the game. Here are some examples of armor that will increase your carry weight limit:

• Exoskeleton Cuirass (can be found at the SKD Installation, Cooling Towers): +8 kg to load capacity.
• OZK "Explorer" suit (under the Sphere, Minor Zone): +8 kg to load capacity.
• Roamer suit (journalist's stash, in the south): +8 kg to load capacity.

Hercules

Don't pass up this option just because it's a temporary solution. After taking the drug, you will receive a bonus of +20 kg to the maximum weight limit for 10 minutes. This is a fairly significant increase in load capacity, and this is enough time to carry the loot to the nearest base.

You will find Hercules from time to time almost everywhere, especially in medical boxes and infirmaries. You can also buy the drug from medics in large settlements.
