Where to find all the journalist's caches in Stalker 2?

After the prologue and the first story mission of STALKER 2, as soon as you find yourself in Zalesye, you will automatically receive a new side quest, available only to owners of the Deluxe Edition. If you check your personal cache after receiving this task, you will find a mysterious drive with the journalist's records.

This journalist has hidden several special caches in the Zone and invites you to find them. The caches contain a variety of high-quality and unique equipment. And we recommend searching each cache, even if you can't do it right away.

All journalist caches in Stalker 2

In total, there are 12 journalist caches in STALKER 2, which can be found in almost all regions of the map. They can be found in the following locations:

  • Dump (South)
  • Dump (North)
  • Rostok
  • Yanov

  • Swamp (South)
  • Duga

Journalist's Stash #1

Small Zone (Zalesie). The first journalist cache is located on the outskirts of Zalesie in the Small Zone. In the attic of an abandoned house. To get to it, go around the house from the north side, and you will see a blue truck. Jump on the hood, and you will be able to climb onto the roof of the truck.

From there, jump onto the roof of the house. After that, go down from the roof to the balcony on the western side of the building. The journalist's cache is in the attic; open it to find a unique PTM "Monolith" pistol with ammo and a light mercenary suit.

Journalist's Stash #2

Minor Zone (Sphere). The journalist's stash in the south of the Minor Zone is hidden inside the Sphere. You will get there as part of the story. Head to the large military outpost where the marker points. The cache can be found on the roof of a small building, pressed tightly against the perimeter. There is a ladder on the western side of the building; climb it and open the stash to get the unique AR416 Monolith assault rifle (and ammo) and a flash drive with a recording from the journalist.

Journalist's Stash #3

Minor Zone (Checkpoint North). The third journalist's stash is located inside Checkpoint North, which connects the Minor Zone with the Garbage, a region located to the north. Go into the checkpoint territory, and then go up the ladder on the side of the main white building. The ladder can be found on the western side of the building.

Head to the eastern edge and use another ladder to drop down to the lower roof. There's a journalist stash here, containing the unique Viper Monolith SMG and ammo.

Journalist Stash #4

Dump (South). The fourth journalist stash is located in the south of the Dump, not far from the North checkpoint. It's among a pile of trash inside an old broken down minibus.

There's nothing complicated here - just follow the stash marker on the map, enter the minibus and open the stash to get the unique M860 Monolith shotgun and ammo.

Journalist's Stash #5

Junkyard (North). The fifth Journalist's Stash is located just northwest of the Junkyard. It's tucked away in a corner, in a maze of car wrecks. To reach the stash, approach the area from the south side and go through the square opening of the overturned green van.

Once you're on the other side, immediately turn right and jump onto the wreck. Turn right and you'll see a Journalist's Stash lying on the ground. Open it to get some valuable Camper Gear.

Journalist's Stash #6

Rostock. The sixth Journalist's Stash is located just outside of Rostock, in the area west of the Junkyard. It's located inside the barracks; to reach the stash, go through the main entrance on the east side, turn left, and enter the large room with anomalies. Use the bolts to disable the anomalies and go to the right corner of the room.

The journalist's stash is on the floor next to one of the frame bunks. Look inside to find the unique Integral-A "Riman" and ammo for it.

Journalist's stash #7

Yanov (north). The journalist's stash is at the very top of Yanov, in the area above the Red Forest. Follow the marker on the map, and it will lead you to an abandoned train station.

One of the train containers is locked; break or shoot the lock to open the door. Inside, turn left, and you will see a cache at the end of the container. Open it to get the unique Model Competitor revolver and ammo.

Journalist's stash #8

Chemical Plant. The eighth journalist's stash can be found on the territory of the Chemical Plant, crossing the bridge in the west. Following the marker on the map, you will get to the area next to the train tracks. You may have to fight a few fleshlings inside the complex.

Approach the building with the soldiers and jump on the hood of the truck. From here, jump on top of the truck, then take a running jump to the platform below the open window. Climb inside through the window, and in the small room on the left you will find a journalist's cache, which contains the unique Fora-221 Lullaby.

Journalist's Stash #9

Burnt Forest. The next journalist's cache is located not far from the previous one. Cross the border of the Chemical Plant and Burnt Forest and follow the marker on the map to the ruins surrounded by anomalies.

Evading the anomalies, jump into the ruins and go down the stairs to the basement. In the next room there is a fire anomaly guarding the journalist's cache. Deal with it in any way convenient; You can simply endure the damage while looting the cache to get one item - the SSP-100M NICHAAZ suit.

Journalist's Stash #10

Swamp (North). There are two journalist caches in the swamps. The first one you'll encounter is near the northern border, on the other side of the swamps that dominate the south of Zaton. Follow the marker to the abandoned farm and go around the north side of the main building. You'll see a couple of cabinets on the ground: jump on them, and then carefully jump onto the fence next to the building. From there, you can jump onto the roof and break the wooden boards covering the entrance to the attic.

On the other side of the attic is the journalist cache, in which you'll find a unique modified VS Vintar "Veteran" sniper rifle and ammo.

Journalist's Stash №11

Swamp (South). The Journalist's Stash is located at the very bottom of the Swamp, and you'll find it (get very close) while following the main storyline in the Swamps.

Once you're close, you can easily loot the contents of the stash. Just enter the partially collapsed barracks, and you'll see the Journalist's Stash on the floor next to a bunk bed frame. Open it to find a very valuable piece of equipment - the Tramp Suit.

Journalist's Stash №12

Duga. This journalist's stash is much harder to get than the others. The problem is that it is located in the Duga location - a heavily fortified region. There are snipers at the main gate of the base and the fenced section. Even if you eliminate them, the "invisible snipers" will still kill Skif.

However, there is a path along the southeastern part of the base that leads to the inner part with a courtyard and residential buildings. This is a little further from the fortified section, so the snipers will not be able to shoot the hero right away.

You will reach this region by completing the main quest called "Happiness for All". I can't say for sure if it is possible to safely enter the southeastern part of the base at earlier stages of the story campaign.

While completing the quest "Happiness for All", one of your goals will be to eliminate the patrolmen. Then you will be asked to talk to Star, located inside the building. You need to enter the building immediately, so don't get distracted by the journalist's stash. If you instead move away from the building, you'll find that the door is now locked when you return to it. You'll have to reload to an earlier save. However, once you talk to Star, you can head straight to the journalist's stash, and then head down into the sewers to continue the story mission.

Once you reach the armory marked on the map, get ready for a fight. Inside the building is a burer, a mutant who uses psionic powers to snatch weapons and use them against you. And since you're in the armory, the burer will be using a variety of rifles scattered around. Once you've eliminated the burer, check the left side of the building to find a generator. Activate it, then go up the stairs to the control room and interact with the switch. This will open the gate, and you will be able to search the locker with the loot: the SA-U Gabon assault rifle and the SEVA-I suit.

As soon as you take the last flash drive of the journalist, you will hear a recording in which Veniamin states that there is one more, the last cache. You will be able to find it in one of the most iconic places of the series, where you will get closer to the end of the story campaign.

Secret Stash of the journalist in Pripyat

As soon as you find 12 caches of the journalist, it remains to get to the final one, located in Pripyat. This can only be done closer to the end of the main story campaign. Before that, make sure that you have found all 12 caches left by the reporter Veniamin. As soon as you search the 12th cache of the journalist, you will hear a mention that the last, thirteenth cache is hidden in Pripyat. This place is located on the northern edge of the game world (global map).

Getting the last remaining reward is no easy task. If you try to go north from the Dump, your path will be blocked by a high concrete wall. You can't just go to Pripyat! In fact, you need to complete the story mission "Border/Frontier". Continue following the main storyline until you get this mission. During its completion, you will find the M-scanner in the territory of the Red Forest and Yanov.

At the end of the mission "Border", you will be able to choose what to do with the scanner - give it to the commander of the "Yanov" base or use it in the electrified tunnel. Both ways will allow you to get to Pripyat, so make sure you are ready for the final sortie.

Once in Pripyat, make sure to track the side quest from the journalist to see the location of the cache. Moving along the abandoned streets of Pripyat, stick to the southern wall until you see an open path. It will lead to a courtyard with a lonely apartment building. Inside this building there are many regular and psychodogs. Closer to the top floor you will come across a keypad. Enter the code: 2-0-2-1.

After that you will be able to collect rewards from the journalist's last cache. In the cache Venyamin hid the M860 Cracker and PTM, and on the balcony there is a chest with additional loot. Inside it you can find the "Margach D-12MT" (modified D-12 rifle), a modified sniper rifle "Hunter", the PSZ-21V "Storm" armored suit, which gives +12 kg to the maximum carrying capacity.

In the journalist's PDA there is also a message from a certain guy who will seem familiar to you (only if you are well versed in the history of the previous parts of the series).
