Essence of Blood in V Rising

Blood Essence is obtained by killing almost all living creatures. It will be automatically added to your inventory (if there is room) after a kill, so you don't even have to manually pick it up.

Essence of blood nourishes your castle and prevents it from being destroyed, so you need to have the heart of the castle filled with it. Notably, you need the same essence to create some of the furniture options and crafting stations, so you definitely need to have some left over.

How to get Greater and Primal Blood Essence in V Rising

As you progress, you will need Greater Blood Essence and Primal Blood Essence to craft higher level gear and items. They can be obtained with the help of ordinary blood essence and certain hearts on a special workbench.

How to Find Flawless and Exquisite Hearts in V Rising

The blood press can be created immediately, without the need to kill V-blood carriers (bosses). Similarly, you can turn Flawless and Exquisite Heart into Greater and Primal Blood Essence respectively. However, these hearts are hard to come by, making these recipes difficult to complete.

The first Flawless Hearts in the game will most likely drop from Blood Carriers. Bosses you track with the bloody altari to get new blueprints and recipes. The drop rate of Flawless or Exquisite Heart from each boss is pre-set, and is different for all enemies. Once you get high level gear, it's probably easiest to farm low level bosses and hope they drop the right heart.

Instead, you must track down two specific V-Blood Carriers (bosses), kill them, and unlock recipes that make crafting easier with Blood Essence. These are the following enemies:

• Greater Blood Essence Recipe will drop from Vampire Hunter Tristan (Level 46)
• Elemental Blood Essence Recipe will drop from Vampire Hunter Jade (Level 62)

Using these recipes, you will be able to turn a normal Blood Essence into a Greater or Primordial. And never confuse the essence of blood with the normal blood that your vampire character drinks.
