How to create checkpoints and shortcuts in Below

Below is a rogue-lite, so it's not surprising that players will die many times. In the caves and locations you explore, there will be pitch darkness, deadly traps and dangerous opponents. On the one hand, after each death, you will have to repeat everything again, on the other hand, there is a way to avoid having to start exploring the cave from scratch. In fact, you can create your own checkpoints or open shortcuts so you don't have to replay earlier episodes. After each death in BELOW, you are automatically moved to the very beginning. The protagonist loses his things, he has to return it all, moving to the place of the last death. This place will be marked on the map with a "skull". Checkpoints are a great way to instantly move to the right part of the dungeon. And if the checkpoint can be used only once, then short routes remain available on an ongoing basis. And here's how to create them:

1. To create a checkpoint, you need to spend 25 fragments, painting the fire blue. After that, it will be possible to teleport to the fire at any time from any other. After one use, the checkpoint will become inaccessible, and the fire itself will become normal. Thus, due to the limited number of shards, try to save money and do not try to create checkpoints at every step.
2. A short route (slice) is used on an ongoing basis. Such a cut can usually be found after major battles with formidable opponents. You can't miss them - just keep going down and eventually find the cut.

To get the shards needed to create checkpoints, kill opponents and drop them into the cache. The vault will open after you reach the third tier. You can store additional things in it, and to gain access you need to interact with any fire. Items in the vault are not lost if the main character dies.
