The official trailer with Russian translation for the erotic thriller Deep Waters , starring Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas, has been released.
The film is about Vic (Affleck) and Melinda (de Armas), a wealthy New Orleans couple who fall out of love. Melinda does not even hide the betrayal from her husband. They start playing deadly mind games with each other that lead to real deaths. In the trailer, Vic and Melinda go on a picnic to discuss the state of their marriage.
Zack Helm and Sam Levinson adapted the screenplay from the 1957 novel of the same name by the late Patricia Highsmith. We have previously seen film adaptations of Highsmith's novels. We are talking about the works "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "The Price of Salt" (later re-released as "Carol"): both films received several Oscar nominations.
Other roles in the film were played by Tracey Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Dash Mihok, Lil Rel Howery, Jacob Elordi, Finn Wittrock and Kristen Connolly.
Deep Waters is Adrian Lyne's first directorial effort in over 20 years. Lyne is best known for blockbusters such as Flashdance, 9 1/2 Weeks, Fatal Attraction, and Indecent Proposal. The film was supposed to be Disney's first erotic thriller, but was pulled from theaters late last year for unknown reasons.
It is scheduled to premiere on March 18 on Amazon Prime in the UK and on Hulu in the US.
