The forthcoming Hearth & Home expansion for Valheim is the first update that will add new content to the game instead of improving existing features and fixing various bugs. There will be many new features, and the processing of existing ones will affect the health and stamina system.
First, Hearth & Home will change the food system. If now food restores both health and stamina, then after the update there will be products focused on healing, replenishing stamina, and, rarely, both, but with less efficiency. Stamina is used for building and survival, while health determines how much damage your viking can take before dying. But in battles, you will have to give priority to only one of the characteristics, which will affect the style of combat.
From the trailer above from publisher Valheim, it appears that the endurance-focused fighting style is the most popular among gamers. The higher the stamina, the more hits the player will be able to inflict on the enemy. At the same time, the health-focused combat style will focus on defensive tactics such as using shields. Now the strength of the block will depend not only on health, but also on the new stun mechanics. When you miss hits, you will gradually fill the Stagger bar. At what speed of filling will depend on the maximum health. As soon as the scale is full, your Viking will receive the "Stun" status.
In the next trailer, Iron Gate promises to talk about improving the mechanics of using shields, so stay tuned to our website!
