Biomutant sales reached 1 million copies - the game paid off in a week after release

Not a bad figure, although the action role-playing game lags behind Valheim, which surpassed the 8 million mark in sales.
Biomutant sales reached 1 million copies - the game paid off in a week after release

Against the backdrop of incredible information that even after 3 million copies sold, the development of Outriders did not pay off and People Can Fly did not receive a center from Square Enix, it became known that just a week after the release, the funds spent on the creation of Biomutant were returned. And in total, over 1 million copies of the game have been sold to date.

The action game Biomutant was created by the Swedish studio Experiment 101. The game was released on May 25, and during this time it has sold over a million copies worldwide. This was announced in its financial report by the parent company Embracer Group.

Embracer-owned publisher THQ Nordic bought the Swedes Experiment 101 in November 2017, thanks to not only the developers, but also the rights to Biomutant. About $8.5 million was spent at the time. Embracer described the game's sales as "meeting management's expectations."

Embracer went on to say that Valheim sold 1.1 million copies between April and June 2021, bringing total sales to over 8 million. The small studio Iron Gate continues to work on Valheim, having increased its staff ... to 8 people. The developers have big plans for long-term support and development of IP.

Towards the end, Embracer announced the purchase of three new studios - Demiurge Studios, Fractured Byte and SmartPhone Labs - through its subsidiary Saber Interactive. Demiurge is the studio that developed the canceled version of Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U. After this failure, the studio created many mobile games, including Marvel Puzzle Quest.
