Frontier Development has decided to cancel the development of the Odyssey expansion for the console version of its space simulator Elite Dangerous. The base game on Xbox and PS will continue to be supported as before, but the company decided to prioritize the PC version.
In a message to the players, the authors write that they do not have the resources and time to work simultaneously with two codebases. The developers want to expand the storyline further, but this will not work if the team distributes funds in two directions at once.
Thus, all major updates coming to Elite Dangerous will most likely appear only on personal computers.
