China plans to impose additional restrictions on video game content

China plans to impose additional restrictions on gaming content for minors in the country. Not only are they banned from playing for more than a few hours a day, but similar rules will now apply across social media and video platforms.

According to the South China Morning Post, there will be a kind of “youth regime” in the country that will limit the time and amount of funds available for spending on video content. For example, this will affect game stiming – you will have to broadcast games and spend money on donations with certain restrictions.

Currently, over 180 million minors play video games in China. Soon, new rules will be established not only for PC gaming, but also for the mobile entertainment sector (special programs will be installed on smartphones to monitor the activities of the child).
