Official: The Witcher 4 in development

The first teaser for The Witcher 4 (The Witcher 4) hints that Ciri, the adopted daughter of the witcher Geralt, can become the protagonist of the role-playing game.

In a recent announcement by CD Projekt Red, officially confirming the development of The Witcher 4, a picture was lit, which depicts the witcher's medallion and the inscription "A new saga begins." Thus, serious changes are coming to the game series, while the medallion itself may be a clue.

The medallion is partially covered in snow, but if you look closely, you can see that it most likely belongs to the School of the Cat, a separate faction of witchers that is not associated with the School of the Wolf, of which Geralt is a member. Initially, Ciri was trained by Geralt in Kaer Morhen, the base of the School of the Wolf, but after an encounter with Leo Bonhart (who killed at least three witchers), she took possession of the medallion of the School of the Cat.

This is known not only from the books about The Witcher. Ciri was shown with a Cat medallion in The Witcher 3, so if this teaser is taken literally, The Witcher 4 or whatever the final title of the game, it may well be dedicated to a new story with Ciri in the title role, which follows the third part and its canonical ending.

If the speculation continues, and if the above fact is confirmed, CD Projekt Red will have incredible gameplay opportunities, because Ciri has the blood of the Elders. She has access to rare and very powerful magic that could probably be used both in combat and when exploring the world.

At the moment, it is not known when The Witcher 4 will be released, on which platforms, what the exact name of the role-playing game will be, but it will be a new story. Perhaps we are waiting for two main characters, Ciri and Geralt, or the next part will be dedicated exclusively to the girl.
