The previous "patch" for Resident Evil Village came out thanks to the information that hacked versions of the game work much better than the original with DRM protection. A new update is planned to be released on August 24 on Steam. The developers describe it as another "performance patch" that fixes "an issue that causes the game to not run on some CPUs" and provides "a minor, barely noticeable tweak to graphics processes." So very soon we will see what happens in practice.
The previous update seems to have improved performance noticeably, although it still lags behind the cracked DRM-free version. Usually, some time after the release, Capcom removes protection from their games, but in the case of Village, this may not happen soon. Especially if they plan to release a couple of story additions for the game, which we, the fans of the series, are certainly looking forward to.
In principle, back in July, Capcom confirmed the development of DLC, and in 2022 the multiplayer component Re:Verse should also appear.
