Ubisoft Announces Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence

Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence , a new free-to-play looter shooter game for... smartphones. The release is scheduled for 2023.

As with the franchise's larger console and PC titles, Resurgence will be a third-person RPG set in an open world. Gamers will get a fresh story campaign that will offer a "new look at key story events."

You will again play as a Special Forces agent and find yourself in a post-apocalyptic America that has survived the outbreak of a deadly virus and the collapse of the government.

The press release refers to Resurgence as a solo and co-op game with various PvE events.

Before the full launch of Resurgence in 2023, alpha testing will take place. You can try your luck and register right now.

Also yesterday, Ubisoft confirmed that The Division 2 is receiving its fifth year of support with new content until 2023.

In addition, Ubisoft is working on another game in the The Division franchise. Heartland will be a free-to-play title for consoles and PC, though we don't actually know when it will arrive yet. Maybe we'll find out more at the new Ubisoft Forward in September?
