Guardians of the Galaxy Is a Linear Action Adventure, Not a New Mass Effect

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - a new game from Deus Ex: Human Revolution developer Eidos Montreal - will not look like Mass Effect RPG
Guardians of the Galaxy Is a Linear Action Adventure, Not a New Mass Effect

Although many gamers counted on this, having seen the system of player selection and dialogue options in the official Guardians of the Galaxy trailer. However, you should not hope for this: the developers have confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy is a linear adventure action game, and nothing more.

The game was announced during E3 2021 in June, and should be available this October. The choice-based dialogue system and space exploration made it look like a Mass Effect-style RPG. Apparently, this is not the case.

Speaking to RPG Site, lead creative director Jean-Francois Dugas confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy will have "some RPG elements", but "it's first and foremost an action-adventure". However, some player decisions will give the scenes a "different aftertaste", others may even cause new scenarios.

The plot of the game will be linear. Ironically, the Guardians of the Galaxy by Telltale Games turned out exactly the same. It will be a story with the same development for all gamers.

Its linearity will send gamers on the same epic adventure. Although the choices made during the journey will allow players to have different perceptions of certain moments. Post-credit scenes will show the consequences of your decisions.
