The next chapter of Kratos will be told by Eric Williams - the first official trailer
Corey Barlog is not involved in the development of God of War Ragnarok

The development of the action game God of War Ragnarok is being led by a new director, while it is unlikely that we will turn our tongues to say that Eric Williams is new to the series.

During the PlayStation Showcase 2021, Sony confirmed that Eric Williams, who has been working at Sony's Santa Monica Studio since 2004, is responsible for the development of God of War Ragnarok (this is already the official name). At one time, in various positions, he participated in the creation of each part of God of War. The video showed everyone's favorite Cory Barlog, who up to this point was the undisputed leader of the series, but now passed the baton.

Below you can see the first official trailer for God of War Ragnarok:

Barlog joked:

Every time we want to present a fresh look, we need a pair of fresh legs. This is exhausting work, so you want to dump it on someone else. For example, on him!

Ragnarok should be the end of the Scandinavian setting of God of War, as Eric Williams said.

We want to tell a heartfelt, epic story of the journey of father and son ... At the end of the journey, we will come to an unexpected but inevitable ending.

Perhaps Ragnarok will mark the end of an era for Kratos, who, like Cory Barlog, will pass the baton to his son Atreus.
