Sony released a new gameplay trailer for Gran Turismo 7 last week. At first, players were excited about the return of favorite features, including the GT Campaign mode, but after a while, some keen-eyed fans found a note in fine print saying that the "new" mode would require a permanent internet connection. The same will be needed for other features, including a photo mode, an editor, and travel on legendary tracks.
This event is not unique to the franchise. The previous version of GT Sport also required an Internet connection, but the game itself was immediately positioned as a competitive racing game. Gran Turismo veterans certainly expected to get access to the single-player campaign in offline mode, which traditionally did not require constant access to the network.
Gran Turismo 7 will release on March 4, 2022. Initially, the release was planned exclusively for PS5, but not so long ago we learned that GT7 will also look at the former generation console (PS4).
We are talking about the full release of version 1.0.
