Right now, Phasmophobia has a single player mode available, which was added to the title in honor of the first anniversary.
It's hard to believe, but it's been a whole year since Phasmophobia made a splash on Twitch and Steam. In honor of the first anniversary, developer Kinetic Games has released an update with several notable innovations and fixes, although the focus is primarily on single player.
Phasmophobia's single-player mode works similarly to multiplayer: you drive up to a spooky haunted house with a list of objectives to complete. Inside the house lives a ghost that you must identify. After choosing your gear, you enter the building and hunt the ghost. No one bothers you, and if the spirit goes hunting, you can safely wait out this event inside some closet.
The new Phasmophobia update also completely overhauls the journal used to identify the ghost. The journal has become more intuitive and understandable in use, navigation has been simplified, now you can cross out various evidence, pause the game directly from the journal and change various in-game settings.
Right now, Phasmophobia is available in Early Access on Steam.
