Critics praised Resident Evil 4 . The game received a score of 92-93 on Metacritic and 92 on OpenCritic (depending on platform). According to the editors of famous publications, Capcom has again raised the bar for reimagining famous games.

Almost all journalists rated Resident Evil 4 nine points out of 10. They noted that the developers did not cut the classic levels from the game, as they did in the Resident Evil 3 remake, but instead simply expanded the original.

According to many critics, Resident Evil 4 is the best remake in the history of the gaming industry.
