Sam Barlow, who served as one of the lead game designers on projects such as Silent Hill: Origins and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, answered questions about the remake of Silent Hill 2. The game is currently being developed by the Bloober Team, but Mr. Barlow is not sure developers will be able to make a successful remake.
The fact is that, according to Barlow, Silent Hill 2 has a lot of fans, besides, new players will also want to evaluate the game. It will be extremely difficult to please both layers of the community, and therefore this remake will become a “heavy burden” for BT.
At the same time, the game designer is very pleased with the announcements of several new franchise games at once. For example, Sam is really looking forward to the release of Silent Hill: Townfall, which is currently being developed by the No Code team. Nothing is known about its release date yet, but the developer has a lot of hopes for the game.
