The Witcher could have been canceled after Henry Cavill left the team

The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich spoke about her thoughts on the series after Henry Cavill decided to leave the team. The actor, who was loved by many for the role of Geralt of Rivia, gave way to his colleague Liam Hemsworth, who might not have appeared in the project.

According to Lauren, they could choose two more ways: to make some other witcher the main character, or, in general, to close the series. She did not like both options, so it was decided to simply replace the actor. Of course, the audience still took it extremely negatively, up to calls to boycott the shooting, but the Witcher will still receive a continuation.

Recall that the last third season of The Witcher with the participation of Cavill will be released on June 29.
