In a post on Reddit, user contrabardus stated that while playing on PC, he tried disabling the Ubisoft Connect overlay (the service that links the game to the Ubisoft loyalty program), but did so in order to get rid of the error notification.
This reportedly “significantly increased and stabilized FPS. […]I went from just under 60 FPS and dropping to 48 at 70 without dropping below 60.” At the same time, the player played the game at maximum graphics settings.
To disable Ubisoft Connect on PC, you need to open Uplay, select the menu in the top left corner of the screen and go to settings. There, on the "General" tab, uncheck the "Enable in-game overlay for supported games" checkbox. If the game is open, you must reload it for the changes to take effect.
