The release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has been revealed

Square Enix has announced the release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which will appear exclusively on the PlayStation 5 platform on February 29, 2024. You will need two disks for installation.

Yesterday was marked by two presentations at once: following the Nintendo Direct, PlayStation decided to increase the level of adrenaline in the blood of gamers and held the second State of Play of the year. On it, gamers saw the Separate Ways add-on for the Resident Evil 4 remake and footage from Spider-Man 2 . But the main event of this event was a detailed review of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth .

In the long trailer, gamers were shown many interesting moments: chocobo racing, battles with wild animals, and so on. However, the main news is the release date, set for February 29, 2024. There is not much time left to wait, and Square Enix, apparently, was able to contain the earlier communication and will release the game in the winter of 2023 (albeit at the end of February).

They also confirmed Cait Sith as a playable character and showed a cutscene with the first meeting of Cloud and Vincent Valentine.

Towards the end of the trailer, Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will require two discs on PS5, making it one of the first next-gen games to have such a strict requirement. After the release of the trailer, the developers shared additional information. The director of the game, Naoki Hamaguchi, approve??, that the RPG will provide gamers with free exploration and approximately 100 hours of gameplay.

This is a bold statement considering one of the main complaints about the Final Fantasy 7 remake was its linearity and limited gameplay. It seems that the developers took this problem into account when creating the new game.
