Terramorphing technology will significantly change tactics in ground battles and make them even more realistic, and aviation fans will be able to try the first two aircraft of a new nation for War Thunder - Israel. In addition, dozens of other types of military equipment and three new maps have been added to the game.
Terramorphing technology allows players to change the landscape of the map in real time and create cover or obstacles. Ground vehicles equipped with self-digging equipment (for example, a Soviet BMP-3 or a British Chieftain tank with a bucket installed) can pour earth parapets for themselves or allies. You can dig anywhere where there are no buildings, rocks, cobblestones, ice, or paved roads. Explosions of bombs and missiles now form funnels, and the larger the charge, the larger the funnel, and groundwater accumulates at the bottom of the deepest ones.
Israel, one of the largest manufacturers and operators of military equipment, will become the next playable nation in War Thunder. Closed testing of the Israeli aircraft line will begin in the next major update, but already now you can buy kits with two premium aircraft, the owners of which will be the first to get access to the CBT. You can choose from the Spitfire LF Mk IXe fighter in the livery of Ezer Weizmann - the hero of World War II and the President of Israel, as well as the A-4E Skyhawk - a late Israeli modification of one of the best attack aircraft in the game.
Other interesting new products include the colorful South African ZSU Ystervark, the American destroyer USS Mitscher during the Cold War and three versions of German armored vehicles based on the Wiesel chassis - small, fast and deadly. The Wiesel 1A4 is the basic version of the vehicle with the 20mm Rheinmetall 202/20 cannon, the Wiesel 1A2 is equipped with a launcher for the TOW-2 family of ATGMs, and the Ozelot is the version with the Stinger air defense system on board.
On the Aral Sea map, ground and air vehicles are fighting on the shore of a dried-up reservoir, between abandoned cargo terminals, fish processing plants and ships. On Bourbon Island, inspired by Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, aircraft battle over gigantic volcanic calderas. Finally, in the "Vyborg Bay" a small fleet fights in narrow labyrinths between skerries - rocky islands covered with forests.
