Testers are still unhappy with Skull and Bones

In mid-December, Ubisoft launched the second beta test of its pirate action game Skull and Bones, and test participants expressed their impressions on Reddit. By all accounts, the game was met with discontent:

  1. The initial stage of the game is considered boring, there are too many dialogues and tasks, with a minimum of combat battles. Some even compare the game to a walking simulator.
  2. Users noticed short black loading screens appearing with every conversation, causing confusion and speculation about a possible bug.
  3. The structure of the game is compared to a mobile project.
  4. Dialogues with characters are rated as boring and sterile.
  5. There is some confusion regarding the usefulness of beta tests, as despite previous tests several years ago, it appears that core aspects of the game have remained unchanged.
  6. In the new beta, new ship options have appeared, small improvements in boarding, but the impossibility of actively participating in it - players just watch a video.
  7. The difficulty of battles in the new beta version has been slightly increased compared to the previous one.

However, among the comments there were those who admitted that they had an enjoyable time in the beta, and noted the improvement in the quality of tasks compared to previous versions. Skull and Bones is expected to hit the market on February 16, 2024 and will be available on PC and next-gen consoles.
