A player with the nickname SharpSwag shared a screenshot of his time played in World of Warcraft on Reddit. In total, he spent 48,000 hours in the game, most of which—24,000 hours (or 1,000 days)—played on a single rogue character. The user started playing in the middle of the Burning Crusade expansion and achieved many achievements, such as “Death Conqueror” for killing the boss Yogg-Saron in the Ulduar raid without the help of the Guardians.
The message caused shock among other users, who expressed concern about such a high time spent in the game. Some advised consulting a doctor, fearing for the player’s health. However, SharpSwag assured that he is not currently addicted to the game and most of his time was spent in the background.
Commenters shared different points of view, with some expressing concern and others believing that playing WoW was better than many other forms of entertainment. Some also discussed the consequences of spending so much time in the virtual world.
