Genshin Impact developer miHoYo opens first office in North America. The office will be located in Montreal. In the next two years, the studio is going to hire about 100 employees.
The reason for opening a new studio is simple: miHoYo decided to develop a completely new game. It will be an AAA open world adventure shooter. There is no doubt that the new office staff will work closely with the miHoYo core team.
Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad posted a tweet on his Twitter account that the game has been in development for a long time. It was first discussed at the GDC 2019 conference. At that time, the project was codenamed Project X.
So far, both games are in the early stages of development.
