Fable's development team has lost several employees

The reason for the people leaving is not yet known.
Fable's development team has lost several employees

Users have noticed that several key developers have left Playground Games studio. As it turned out, the departed specialists were part of the teams working on Fable and Forza Horizon series.

The following employees left Playground Games in early 2024:

  • Martin Lancaster, Narrative Director of the Fable team.
  • Aaron McAree, lead level designer on the Forza team.
  • Nuke Fung Sia, art director.
  • Amber Holders, writer, presumably on the Fable team.
  • Wai Kin Lam, lead vehicle artist for the Forza team.

The developers themselves have not revealed the reasons for their departure, but have already found new jobs at other game studios. Lancaster has returned to Rocksteady, where he worked before Playground; Holders has moved to Avalanche; McAree and Wai Kin Lam are now at Maverick Games.

At the moment, Playground Games is still working on a new Fable game that has been in development since 2017, but an exact release date has yet to be determined.
