Advertising elements may appear in Electronic Arts projects in the future, according to Andrew Wilson, CEO of the corporation.
On a conference call with analysts and investors, Wilson emphasized that EA is actively exploring opportunities to integrate advertising materials into AAA projects. There are several teams working on the issue right now. Wilson did not specify in what form this advertising can be realized, but it is possible that it will be virtual billboards placed in game worlds.
An example of the realization of such an approach can already be seen in American Truck Simulator, where real advertising is placed on the road billboards. Nevertheless, advertising will not appear in Electronic Arts projects in the near future. Wilson emphasizes that the company is approaching this issue with great caution, and all developments in this area are still in the early stages.
