Earlier this week, insiders reported that a new Call of Duty installment from Infinity Ward's Ghosts sub-series will be released in 2026, while Sledgehammer Games will release a sequel to Advanced Warfare in 2027. However, reputable insider and journalist Tom Henderson soon denied these rumors, calling them a complete fabrication.
Henderson emphasized that information of this kind cannot be extracted from the files of the actual Call of Duty parts. He also noted that the games codenamed Anvil and Devilwood do not exist. According to the journalist, according to current plans, Infinity Ward will release a new installment of Call of Duty in 2026, while Sledgehammer Games will release a new one in 2027. The former is reportedly working on a new game in the Modern Warfare universe.
Treyarch Studios will release Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War in the fall of 2024, and a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, codenamed Saturn, will be released in 2025, according to Henderson.
