Insider Jez Corden reported about a possible prequel to the DOOM series, called The Dark Ages. According to his information, the game will be set in the Middle Ages and will be released on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
The game is expected to be unveiled at Xbox Games Showcase 2024. Earlier in the summer of 2023, documents mentioned the title DOOM: Year Zero, which is likely a working title for The Dark Ages.
DOOM director Hugo Martin has hinted at gameplay changes, emphasizing slower, heavier combat. This could mean that players will feel more like fallible warriors rather than deadly killing machines.
No release date for DOOM: The Dark Ages is yet known, but according to Corden, the game will be released simultaneously on all platforms.
