Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was the highest rated game of the first half of 2024 on Metacritic. This ranking includes only reviews by journalists and excludes DLC, compilations, ports without significant changes, mobile games, as well as Definitive- and GOTY-editions. If a game was released on multiple platforms, the version with the highest number of reviews was taken into account. Tekken 8 and Dragon's Dogma 2 were also included in the top 3, while Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown took the fourth place. Interestingly, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring received the highest score among DLC in Metacritic history, scoring 95 out of 100.
