Instead of the anticipated sequel to the popular samurai action game Ghost of Tsushima, developers from Sucker Punch Studios may be focusing on reviving their canceled project codenamed Prophecy.
According to recent reports, the Sucker Punch team is currently working on several projects at once. One of them, of course, is the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, which fans are eagerly awaiting. However, the second project the studio is working on looks much more intriguing.
According to rumors, this mysterious project was previously in development, but was canceled almost at the final stage. The game in question is a steampunk action game called Prophecy. Back in 2020, gameplay footage of this game leaked online, which showed that the development had gone very far and the studio had a finished game prototype.
Despite the initial closure of the project, fans still have hope to see Prophecy in the future. According to an insider, Sucker Punch has an idea to revive this canceled project. The game is currently being reworked for a modern engine, and a small team is working on updating it.
If the developers manage to interest Sony's management in an updated version of Prophecy, there is a chance that this steampunk action game will still see the light of day. So, instead of the expected Ghost of Tsushima sequel, Sucker Punch studio can focus on reviving its previously canceled but promising Prophecy project.
