The popular series of post-apocalyptic shooters Metro 2033 will expand this year with a new VR spin-off called Metro Awakening. The game is being developed by an experienced team from the Vertigo Games studio, and it has not forgotten about the Russian-speaking audience.
According to the updated project page on the Steam digital store, Metro Awakening will receive a full text translation into Russian. Unfortunately, the game's voice acting will only be available in English.
Active updates to the official Metro Awakening page may indicate that the developers are preparing to show off new details about the game in the near future. Considering that the exact release date has not yet been announced, it is possible that the premiere could take place as early as Gamescom 2024 in August.
Thus, Russian fans of the Metro series will be able to enjoy the new VR adventure, albeit without Russian voice acting. The presence of a full text translation will certainly please many players.
The developers thanked the fans: "Thank you all for your support. Together, we have reached this important milestone. See you in the vastness of Thedas on October 31st!"
On Metacritic, the film received a score of 46 out of 100 and 5.3 out of 10, which also indicates a cool reception.
