It turns out that Negan from The Walking Dead was originally named something different

The Walking Dead showrunner Robert Kirkman said that initially one of the main antagonists of the project, Negan, was called differently.

The creator of the universe initially called the character Nagus, but then Kirkman remembered that there was already someone named Nagus in the Star Trek series. The showrunner was then surprised that it turned out that he had not come up with something from scratch, at that moment his consciousness itself suggested to him about someone he had already met somewhere before.

In general, the name Negan did not go far from Nagus.
